Moved into a flat in Leeds on 24 March which I was assured would be thoroughly cleaned and painted. Arrived to an absolute pigsty that had barely been touched. Complained to the branch who initially offered the same substandard contractors to return the following week to clean again!! Declined and ended up cleaning as much as I could myself, at time and cost. Meanwhile, I discovered that hot water wasn't working, and many items were broken, dirty and unusable. No inventory at this point to compare.
Contacted head office on Monday with a growing list of issues. It was agreed that it was unacceptable and needed addressing as a priority. So far, on 30 March, only two relatively minor issues have been rectified. One issue declined while they wait for landlord authorisation (even though I have been assured that they've saved the agreed £400 cleaning/painting costs by cancelling the invoice from last week and I am therefore entitled to expect a speedy and thorough service to make amends for the all the problems.)
Still no word on when hot water will be fixed. One room still disgustingly filthy because I can't physically move the heavy furniture in there to clean. Many other issues still outstanding with no confirmation on when and if professional cleaners and painters will come around.
Meanwhile, no one from Your Move's local branch has actually visited the property, either prior to me moving in or since I have raised these complaints. They do not hold a spare set of keys so I am expected to wait in to allow contractors access to the premises every time, and although I have requested financial reimbursement, this request has been ignored.
Even if Your Move had offered a goodwill gesture of putting me up in a hotel for a week while they get all of these issues sorted I would have felt like they actually cared about my customer satisfaction but it would seem that tenancy relationships are not a priority. The only person doing their job is Sally at Head Office, who has gone out of her way to try and help but, being miles away in Southampton, is working blind.
Meanwhile, I have spent every day of my tenancy ringing, emailing, taking photographic evidence and cleaning. This is totally unacceptable. I am so disgusted that within my first week's experience of living in a Your Move property I took legal advice to terminate my contract. I feel like I have not been a valued tenant at all, but a free cleaner and maintenance organiser - all the while, paying to live in this substandard property while Your Move rake in the cash!
Comment on agent fees
Bad - not entirely sure what they do for their money.
