Avoid at all costs.
We were tempted by House Simple's set-price package. All started off well and we were initially impressed with the service received, especially from Philip.
We even recommended HouseSimple to a couple who came to view our property and they sold their property through them.
I'm not sure what's happened to the company but the last six months have been awful. We had people booked in for viewings that HouseSimple hadn't even told us about. The last thing you need is people turning up to view your property when you aren't in. I called to complain about this and was told that Alex (director?) would call me to discuss it. I have never received that call.
Most importantly the phone is hardly ever answered. we have called on numerous occasions and get the message that the office is closed. The message is not specific to a holiday and given that the calls we have made have been within standard office hours I see no reason why the calls couldn't have been taken. If I can't get through to my agent, it's no wonder that potential purchasers can't either. The property is still on the market despite being advertised for substantially less than the home report valuation. We are just not getting people through the door. I understand the market is incredibly slow just now but surely employing enough agents to answer the calls that do come in, or to invest in a system where callers can leave a message and be called back (or even leave an up-to-date message advising if you're closed or if you are open and all agents are busy) that would be a start.
Housesimple's knowledge of the Scottish market is also lacking.
I certainly won't be using again and would not recommend to anyone.
What agent could do to change your mind?
I called to discuss the lack of service and was promised a call back from Alex (company director?) I never received this call. This a.) demonstrates a lack of commitment to customer care and b.) highlights that after they have your money for the fixed fee, there's no reason to offer a service anymore. Also, when the company changed their phone number, it would have been prudent to let customers know. Again, a demonstration of how important we aren't. Incredibly disappointed.

Please note that the comments on this review were never reported directly to us, so it is difficult to comment. It is not in our interests to not take calls. This is unlikely to be the case as we have a large sales team and we have call analysis data to show that we have improved our effective rate on incoming calls to 98.8%.

Our business survives on repeat business and reviews, aswell as of course through local for sale board advertising our success in selling a property (in terms of Sold slips) . As you may note from other reviews posted Housesimple has many returning clients and many clients who refer us on.

Housesimple endeavours to uphold the highest of standards, as such we are members of TPOS (the property ombudsman regulated by the OFT) aswell as being rated as the No.1 Online estate agency by Allagents and currently rated 23rd Estate agency in the whole of the UK (rated against 10's of 1,000's of estate agents) The company was formed for the express reason to try to change the estate agency industry for the better, through providing a higher quality service for much more competitive fees.

We save our clients a huge amount if fees - £3million and rising - an average client saves £4,678. We are also very efficient at the property business; 50% of all our sales are agreed in an average of 26 days.

I worked for Housesimple almost all of last year before leaving to start a family, I have just seen this and it really annoyed me (especially as I think I know who this is, glasgow property and the fact they have been stuck on the market for quite sometime arouses my suspicions). There was an arrogant and rude couple of gentlemen who lived in an strangely decorated Penthouse in a ghastly part of Glasgow. They ignored our managers advice from the word go in terms of the property being overvalued for the area and they wonder why their friends sold quickly with Housesimple and they haven't! It's been on for almost a year and they still haven't got the message. I won't mention names as I can't be sure but I bet this is them, these kind of review sites do seem to attract very spiteful people. One thing I want to make clear is that Sophie, Alex and Michelle and in fact the whole team are probably the most friendly people you could ever deal with and bend over backwards to help you. What these people have said is rubbish, and about the phones never being answered, well I suppose the best way to find out for sure is to call them. Grrrr some people, rant over! Cxxx
