I was first drawn to Helmores by their lack of rip-off fees. Whilst other estate agents were wanting hundreds of pounds upfront to get moved in to a rented property, Helmores has one flat, transparent and affordable fee.
I met Mike Thierens at the property and received a warm greeting, followed by a comprehensive tour of the rooms. I've never rented before so had lots of questions, but Mike had the answers to these and set my mind at rest.
Once I had agreed to rent the property the process was completely painless - contact from a professional reference agency and then follow-up communications from Helmores too to let me know that everything was going smoothly. I had a few more questions and Mike always answered my emails promptly and professionally.
Move in day came around very quickly and I attended the office in the High Street. I was offered a coffee by Jess as I walked in and was shown to a comfortable waiting area. The whole office looked pristine, tidy and had a nice atmosphere.
I met Gill who comprehensively ran through the paperwork, explained everything clearly and put me completely at ease during the process. Everything went well and before I knew it I had the keys to my new nome in my hand.
The team at Helmores are fantastic - a complete professional service with the personal touch too. I can't recommend them enough!

We note your comments in relation to the issue you experienced with the property but feel it valid to add some context to this. The landlord accepted that there had been a delay in dealing with the damp issue (which was exacerbated by the passing of his wife and the Covid-19 situation). Due to the fact that you had to wait longer than was fair for the remedial works to be undertaken a full three month rent free period was offered to you and accepted as well as paying for the required hotel accommodation. We forwarded the details for the property ombudsman etc back in June as we completely accept your right to raise complaints. I am afraid to say that the way you have spoken to me and other members of staff has been fairly confrontational and I do not accept that we have been rude to you. We do our absolute level best to treat all our landlords and tenants fairly and respect your right to complain and hope that you are happy in your new home and have as enjoyable a festive season as the current restrictions allow. You attempted to deny that damp was a problem a month ago, until I pulled the evidence dating back to 2019 that it was an issue of rising damp & you personally had acknowledged this yourself. You wonder why I have shown annoyance with you Andy? Maybe it’s because you came in pretending to know what you were talking about right up until I pulled out all the evidence. And then you backed right down because I had kept everything you assumed I didn’t. But thank you for your response and allowing me to further highlight the issues yourself, Helmores & the landlord caused.
