I would like to confirm that the Northfields letting staff were absolutely fine through out this entire process and there were no problems with them directly (aside from the usual sales pitch which all estate agents do).

Having handed in notice to our existing flat landlord, we have twice put offers in to Landlords through Northfields which were accepted by the Landlord in question.

Northfields took our holding deposit and began the process of requesting references and ID etc.

However twice with two seperate landlords in question after accepting us as tenants have pulled out at the last minute. Leaving us with nowhere to live. This is absolutely ridiculous and given the hoops as tenants that we have to jump through including deposits, holding deposits, reference requests, and letting fees, frankly is taking the mickey.

If Northfields are unable to even provide a basic assurance that once the landlord has accepted the offer we have put forward and we have handed the money over to Northfields for a deposit, that we can then move in, it puts me off using them ever again.

I understand that this is not directly Northfields problem, but the fact they bend over backwards for the Landlord and there is absolutely no protection for you as a tenant seems completely wrong.
