Consider this. When i recieved the property i lived in for 8 months the kitchen was a mess inside the cupboards, every wall was scuffed or marked, there was dust in the bathroom and there was several things wrong with the place, from the trivial no plug in the kitchen sink, to a leaking pipe in a cupboard that left the kitchen stinking of mold. Oh and the hob that had one ring broken the entire time i lived there. Being in the kitchen trade i repaired all these problems, sealled the worktops that had no joint strips. Completly cleaned the hob that was caked in grime and fixed all the trim around the poorly fitted laminate, at a cost of around £30, woth it cbecause the landlord was a joke when he actually did try and fix anything.
Then when i get my first check up, im told the kitchen was a bit messy. Rightttt ok? It was spotless, i cleaned everything from top to bottem. Then when it came to checking out, that is after 8 months when my landlord decided he wanted to move back i get done over like a kipper. Im told the property is dirty, theres cob webs on the ceiling, theres dirrt on the bath, the windows arnt cleaned, the kitchen is dirty again. Nonsense! So now im being charged £60 to have it cleaned, on top of £60 they never mentioned i have to pay for check out, plus £120 because hous sitting a cat for a week is a massive issue for the landlord, who owned a cat anyway. All in all, ive instructed my solcitors to get my money back from these greedy people.
