If I could give this company less that 1 star I would.
We have suffered terrible customer care from Belhus from the start. Abysmal fees in the first place, including the fact that we have to sign a 1 year tenancy agreement each year, with no offer of a rolling contract. This is so that they can charge £85 each year to renew your contract for "admin fees" - i.e. changing literally 1 number out of a date. So 01/01/2015 to 01/01/2016 - is costing £85.
The customer service is absolutely awful. We have a two year old and have a broken appliance that the Landlord is liable for maintaining and repairing. This happened two weeks ago, to which we reported it straight away to Belhus. They replied stating that they are waiting for the Landlords consent and we haven't heard anything back yet. We have since sent a further two emails, to which we have received no response. Fair enough they are waiting for consent from the Landlord, but it is good customer care and professionalism that would not let you ignore customers emails and at least keep them updated.
Also, we are subject to checks every three months, despite living in the property over two years. Every single time they check, our property is in immaculate condition and they say that they will not need to come again, but they still do anyway which I feel is breaching our privacy. During our last property visit, the staff member just let herself into our property without even knocking the door, despite knowing that we would be in during the visit! She then said that the lock would need fixing as it was not working properly - that was over four months ago and we haven't heard anything back about that.
When we arrived I took pictures of all damage left by the previous tenant, sent them to Belhus and the email response I got included a sarcastic remark to say that I am "very particular to detail" - I wonder why? I don't want to be losing out on our £800 deposit because of damage someone else caused and that wasn't included in our inventory.
Just terrible customer service, high fees/costs, lack of customer care, no response to issues, rude - just avoid at all costs!
