We rented from Langford Russell in Bromley and had a bad experience. We looked around a property that was being advertised on the landlord's behalf but managed by him. We were told the house had use of an electricity supply to the shed. We wanted to use it to store a freezer and tumble dryer as the kitchen was too small for these items. However, on moving in we found out from the landlord that the electrical supply to the shed was not certified as safe and therefore we should not use it! The landlord did agree to let us use it at our own risk, however. A year later, after our landlord removed all white goods from out next contract, he decided that we could no longer use the electrical supply. So in the middle of winter with 3 very young children, I had no tumble dryer of freezer! All due to the incompetence of Langford Russell who WAS originally told by the landlord that the shed was for storage only. Supply to the shed was not covered in our contract. It thus put us in a vulnerable position whereby our landlord held control over whether we could use the supply or not. So we moved out as soon as possible once we were told to turn it off. Langford Russell knew we took the house on the understanding that we could put the appliances in the shed so their 'mistake' cost us dear. They never apologised to us or the landlord for their error.
When we left the property a couple were due to view at 6.30pm on a January evening. The agent did not turn up so I felt obliged to show them around myself, being too polite to turn them away. They spent ages in the house asking questions while I was trying to cope with my toddlers! Langford Russell failed to do their job in all our dealings with them. Avoid!
