No Properties
There have been no lies by the agent after you vacating your flat. The ruling in favour of the Landlord due to the appalling state the flat was left in was made in the correct, legal and fair manner. The agency does not have any control over what money is kept to pay for any damages that you have made. This ruling has been made by the TDS, a third part adjudicator, after reviewing all the evidence, the condition of the flat prior to you moving in, the fact it had been completely decorated prior to you moving in, (with receipts to prove this), the fact it was cleaned, etc etc. The fact you tried to vacate the flat leaving the Landlord with over £1000 worth of work and damage to be carried out after only living there for for (delete extra for) only a year suggest that you be the untrustworthy party rather than the agent. All mentioned can be backed up by paperwork and is not hearsay.
In all these situations, all agents are bound by the terms and conditions set out by the TDS and it is therefore impossible to withhold moneys back from a deposit unfairly. The agent does not deal with or decide on what moneys are owed to who, they are simply instructed who to forward the money to after a ruling has been made by the dispute service.
