I never write reviews about anything, but I feel I have to here because this company has cost us a large amount of money. My partner and I found a property on a Saturday and saw it straight away, within ten minutes of viewing it we put an offer in at slightly less but only by £500. We were informed that the vendor wanted to think about it as it happened so quick! We increased our offer to the asking price as we didn't want to lose the property. We were told we we would have to come into the shop to carry out an affordability check! And also told we should see their own mortgage advisor as we may be able to get a better deal. Despite telling them we had a decision in principle already! We had to wait until Tuesday when they informed us two other people had put offers in! All three had to do an affordability check, all three passed this fictitious waste of time check and so had to do a blind bidding war, something that was completely unnecessary as we were the first and only ones to put an offer in. We were asked what our maximum bid would be! So we gave it, paid way over because we loved the house. So we felt obliged to get a mortgage through them or we were made to feel we'd lose the house! We had to pay £598 for some lifetime mmemberships with sequence who are mortgage advice people but apparently you can go to them anytime and get a free mortgage. Unfortunately the vendor then pulled out however we didn't find out from the estate agents, we found out from our solicitor! I was fuming! So we found a new build property, went to our mortgage advisor who explained that they don't deal with new builds and only have 20 lenders they as a company use! So we've paid £500 for a company that has less lenders than the mortgage bureau who have now thankfully secured us a mortgage through one of their 90 lenders on their panel. Bags haws, sequence or whoever they want to be known by don't care about anyone except getting your money in anyway they can, absolutely disgusting company. In fairness the mortgage advisor was very helpful in doing all of the paperwork for the first mortgage.

Funny reading this review because it doesnt surprise me in the slightest! I recently put an offer in on a house and was told the seller was "very interested, but wanted me to come in for an affordability check" (sound familiar?) I didnt want to wait a week so i spoke to the fast-talking sales-pitch-type mortgage adviser who fitted me in the following day. In the meantime I spoke to my long-standing mortgage adviser who I have dealt with many times and trust implicitly. He immediately told me to watch out and that this was a very dodgy move by Bagshaws. The scam here is not only to get this £598 out of you, but also to see how much you can afford and to inform the seller of this! So I rang them back to tell them that I wasnt interested and i was already pre-approved for a mortgage. After another long-winded fast-talking sales patter where I couldnt get a word in edge-ways I took the liberty of asking him to "cut the bullsh*t"...that was it...Ive never received such a torrent of abuse in my life. Of course, because Id used the word "bullsh*t" I had no leg to stand on, but thats what it is, this guy will spin you so much bull youd think he was a farmer! When I asked him how he could speak to a customer like this he said "youre not my customer, the seller is my customer", and that is the message here. He wants to use you to squeeze every drop out of you and youre not his customer, hes not working for you, hes actually not even working for the seller, he wants every penny he can get out of you for himself (his bonus). He should be blacklisted. DO NOT TRUST HIM

Absolutely DiSGUSTED with Bagshaws.

Unprofessional, uneducated and completely disgusting people.
We will be taking them to the small claims court for expenses and time wasted.
