I agree with the previous review - it says it all. I requested an update on an ongoing problem at our residential building. The company Director is clearly very inexperienced , and that's putting it mildly. He claims that there will be routine roof inspections, he wil be proactive etc. It is all a bluff .. He also claims that he will regularyly update residents so they are kept aware of any relevant matters pertaining to their development. However, when I requested information relating to a potential fire hazard caused by water ingress in the next door flat to the one I own - he has continued to refuse to disclose this vital information. His email responses are incomprehensible. He had the audacity to say that I should access this information from the Insurance Company - so clearly he is unaware of Data Protection Act 2010 whereby information cannot be passed to a third party. His behaviour beggars belief. I am aware that anyone who has been unfortunate enough to have to make direct contact has been disatisfied with the company's attitude and what appears to be a clear lack of knowledge. Annan in my opinion do not live up to the claims they have on their website and I would strongly discourage anyone from approaching this company for the purposes of property management.. I know I am not the only resident who is disgusted with the behaviour of this company.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Communicate properly - stop being so rude - deal with issues timeously. Use recognised tradesmen - be honest about insurance claims. Stop offering empty promises [as per website] Act in a professional way and at least make an attempt to learn how to run the business, or employ people who do.

Annan Property are without a doubt one of the worst Property Factors in Scotland. They have been in Factoring since 1st December 2008 and have still not managed to meet an acceptable standard of service provision. The key to the problems are the owner himself, Michael Annan. This man is the most frustrating person to deal with. On the face of it, he is personable, positive and convincing. But the reality is that he lacks credibility and integrity, promises the world and never delivers. Most emails are never responded to in a timely manner and go unanswered months later, necessitating reminders. There is a distinct lack of clarity and transparency in many areas. The most frustrating thing is that the owner is completely deluded and doesn’t accept that things are as bad as they are!

Customer centric they are not! They seem to forget who the customer is and their attitude at times is far from professional. It doesn’t help that the Property Managers are constantly changing (no surprise) but on a positive note, there was one good one for a year. Agree with comments below, including the fact that some communications are incomprehensible and many times the responses don’t completely answer the questions asked.

We did not appoint Annan Property having inherited them from Pentland who ceased as Factors.
Let’s see what happens with the implementation of the Property Factors Act (Scotland) later this year when a Code of Conduct will be implemented. It will either be the catalyst for them to reach standard or it will be the end of them, on the Factoring side anyway. A leopard does not generally change its spots, especially when the problems emanate from the owner himself.
