We signed a six month tenancy agreement for an apartment via a letting agent (who shall remain nameless). On the day that we moved in we were sent an email from said letting agent, informing us that the apartment was also up for sale via Hunters estate agents in Manchester and that a viewing was to take place in two days' time. Obviously this was pretty concerning for us, and rather confusing to say the least.
To cut a long story short, the whole experience with Hunters was an absolute and utter nightmare. Viewing after viewing took place (we had requests every week while we were there), with groups of up to six potential buyers traipsing through our very tiny apartment at any one time. We were shown no courtesy or respect. The final straw was when we were in the process of moving out - we cut the tenancy short and moved out in month two, much to our financial detriment, as we could not take any more (not only viewings-wise, but there were many, many problems with the letting agent and the apartment in general) - and Hunters took it upon themselves to let themselves into the apartment without giving us notice or seeking our permission. I had just cleaned the apartment in readiness to hand it back to the letting agent later that week, but Hunters and their group of potential buyers walked dirt and chewing gum into the carpet, rearranged all of the blinds (badly), left sticky finger prints on all of the cupboard doors, neglected to lock the balcony door, left a light on in the landing/stairwell for almost 24 hours (electricity that we had to pay for), and evidently smoked a cigarette (the apartment reeked of stale cigarette smoke when we opened the front door the following day - which had never happened before, not least because neither myself nor my partner smoke).
If you call them they are never available, and they never return your calls. Emails go unanswered, or you are given a one line email equivalent of a brush-off. I put in a complaint to their complaints department on 15th February 2016 and unsurprisingly I am yet to receive a formal acknowledgement or a response, and I do not hold out much hope for one ever materialising.

I met up with the agent and she was friendly enough, showed me around the properties. 2 of the properties were within one apartment block; The Wentwood and were going for similar prices ~130k. Unfortunately was a fair amount of information she didn't know when I ...

helpful from the start in poor marketing conditions. Regular contact through e mails and phone and useful feedbacks fro visits. Seemed to be cohesive team . I had confidence with them so did not change agents despite the property being with them for 1 year....
