After showing our interest in the property we were assured that it would be available for our move in date in one a half months time, however when we called to confirm this we were told that it was not ready. It took constant chasing on our behalf to get any kind of update and took months before the property was ready to be moved into.
When we did move in we found that the flat was very messy (after the necessary building work) which we cleaned at our own expense. There were also a number of faults (faulty lights) which were highlighted to L&S which were not acted upon. When our washing machine broke it took three weeks for an engineer to visit (even with phone calls chasing them most days).
We have now been here a year and hence also had an inspection, as expected. We have never had any complaints from our previous landlords, and hence were shocked when we received a letter saying that the housekeeping did not meet the landlords standards, with no explanation as to what had not been met. I have emailed L&S asking for an explanation, but will not be holding my breath for any kind of prompt response.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Being polite and productive to issues, including explaining what was going on, not just being fobbed off.
