Belvoir insisted that their full manage rate was more expensive than their competitors due to a personal touch. This turned out not to be the case. We struggled to get Belvoir to do anything properly and always had to chase them for answers; not helped by a lack of staff communication within the office. With the staff based in Bury St Edmunds, they are not well suited to letting to the US market in Lakenheath/Mildenhall. Our property was vacant for some 7 months before it was finally let and even then it was less than the asking price and to problematic tenants. When we later went to a new letting agent, the house was rented immediately and at more than the Belvoir recommended rental rate.
We are still awaiting the return of a ¢â‚¬Ëœkept deposit' (sum agreed with them) and it is over a year since the contract ended ¢â‚¬â€œ they avoid all contact. I would stay well clear of the Bury St Edmunds branch of Belvoir.
What agent could do to change your mind?
I suggest taat their office is too far from Lakenheath/Mildenhall to take on the management on USAF rental properties. With the office being in Bury St Edmunds, USAF personnel tend not to look at letting agents so far away. Please stick with local rentals and do not take on more than you can handle.
