Friar seemed great at the beginning, as so many letting agencies but they're as terrible as all the rest. We let them know about a problem with out flat- their solution is to evict us and move in new people who might not complain about the damp walls and leak in the ceiling once its been pained over. They also cant be relied upon to give you prior warning as to when they are coming. A number of friends have similar complaints- they'll lie to your face without the decency to sit down and talk about things. I would definitely not recommend Friar lettings
What agent could do to change your mind?

We always book appointments and our maintenance always let the tenants know that they are coming over. It is difficult to relate to which flat you are talking about as you have not been specific. If you are relating to Church Lane there was a damp test carried out a week after the damp was reported and it turned out to be condensation. To improve the situation the landlord had an extractor fan installed in the bathroom, had the pipes lagged to elevate the situation, the tenants were asked to ventilate the flat also which the answer was it is too cold. The landlord felt he had done what he could and it would be better to have a tenant that would be a bit more helpful.
