I called to book a viewing, and the sales said she will send me some details to look at and ask me to wait for their calls to discuss the date and time, which is good.

One day later, I got a phone call from their guy. After I told him I am from China, he asked"Do you have enough money in your account? I heard it's difficult to transfer money from China to the UK. I need to see some proof that you had enough money before I let you view any houses." I do feel this judgement is a bit racist, to me this question is very rude and unprofessional.

I said I can have my balance checked if I'd like to make an offer, but I don't understand why I need to show the bank statement to them before any viewings. He answered"We only let people who have the financial ability to view houses, so you need to prove to us that you had the money."He repeated this again and again no matter what I said, made me feel like he thinks I don't understand English.

I asked if checking customer's balance before any viewings is actually their policy. He paused for a second and said "yes".

He also said"welcome to call us once you have the money sorted." Well, to this attitude I pretty much sure the answer is no, never.

I've lived in Bristol for 5 years now and I always met very friendly people. I had no idea this kind of agency could even exist before this very unpleasant encounter.

I will tell everyone I know to avoid doing any business with them forever.

Comment on agent fees
The fact that we had to pay for a service is outrageous. Even after delaying our deposit return by two months they refused to let ME PAY for a CHAPS same day transfer. They then failed to raise a BACS transfer for another week.

Agency fees were'nt the issue, and senior management bend over backwards to help out. Giuseppe would rather see you bend over though, so he can have his way while you cough up your deposit.
