Selling a house can be stressful, we all know that, but Saxton Mee increased that stress at least twentyfold. We had to pay about £600 up front and after you've parted with that amount of money you don't want to change agents - plus the contract was so slippery we'd have probably had to pay even more to get out of it.
The incompetence was horrendous! We ended up writing the details ourselves but STILL they kept coming back with errors. We even had to have two visits from the photographer. It took them two weeks just to get a board up outside and we had to chase on everything constantly. We finally got a number of viewers (although it was a great effort to try to get them to bother to arrange appointments around the same day rather than constantly disrupting us - no understanding there at all ) and got an offer (from someone who had been interested in the propery when we tried to sell previously ourselves) and which was later increased and we accepted. That was when the fun really started! You would have thought they were acting wholly in the interests of the buyer. The process up to completion was really odd with strange delays and when we wanted them to remarket the property as the process had become so protracted they did not do as we instructed. They were determined it would be sold to this particular buyer even when the offer was decreased considerably, we ended up having to leave loads of things in to pleased the buyer and then she couldn't complete on the agreed date as she was a few thousand short. . We were lied to constantly throughout and they were a hinderance rather than a help.
We eventually completed after 5 months and immediately the house was put up for rent with, yes, you've guessed it .... Saxton Mee! They also had the cheek to use the photographs and the details we had had done, composed and paid for.More money still for them. They had always told us the buyer was going to move into the property herself and needed us to leave things for her.
NEVER USE THESE AGENTS - DISHONEST, NO SCRUPLES AND TOTALLY INCOMPETENT!
