During our 3 years at the property we had very little contact from Southern Properties. Towards the end of our tenancy (the property was sold) we had complained of a very bad smell from our water. When they finally (some weeks later) sent someone to look into it, it was confirmed as rats in our water tank. We advised that we would move out as we couldn't use the water. They agreed that we would be refunded for our time away from the property. We were out for nearly two weeks. The property has since been sold and we are still waiting on our refund. SPM are happy to pass the buck and say that we need to deal with the landlord direct as its nothing to do with them!! Their correspondence is unprofessional and rude, they purposefully got us to agree to a settlement with our deposit and now say that that included the refund but it didn't. They just played clever so that we lost out. I wish that we had involved health and safety specialists from the start but we were naive and far too trusting.
I would not recommend this company to landlords or tenant as they only look after themselves.
