Throughout our tenancy with Choices, they were nothing but shocking - they did not give the flat a professional clean when we first moved in, and were reluctant to send a plumber when the kitchen flooded, instead getting us to find out if it was something we could fix 'so they didn't have to bother the contractor'.
It has been nearly two months since we should have received our deposit, and customer services have been an absolute joke in returning this huge sum of money. For a start, Choices never compiled an itinerary report at the start of our tenancy, which meant they had no reason to withold our deposit, regardless of the state we left our flat on. Of course, we still have not received our deposit yet. Even though the three of us all have full time jobs, we have been ringing customer services everyday at times when the employee we needed to speak to has 'coincidentally' always been in a meeting. We were then promised Jane would ring back, which she never did. This cycle continued for days on end.
Choices represent one of the fundamental components of the London Housing crisis. Our property was in social housing in Tower Hamlets and perhaps because of this, they were reluctant to treat us with the respect and decency everyone deserves. There is a very sinister side to their apathy and I'd highly recommend no one deals with them.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Treat us like human beings and return our deposit.
