Initially I dealt with Nicole over the phone, who was very helpful, suggesting that I view a property that had just come available. I thought it was good how Nicole didn't push any other properties on me, knowing that they were out of my time frame and / or budget. This is something that makes Atkinson Mcleod different to the other agencies I was in contact with. On the day of the viewing Nicole was held up at another property, so Nick took over. He didn't know too much about the property but was helpful where he could and had a very personable and honest approach. He wasn't pushy at all and despite the office closing straight after our viewing, he said we could call any time that evening if we would like to make an offer. He even called me later on to let me know what times there were viewings the next day. Unlike other agencies, I felt no pressure at all and the extra info regarding viewings we received, was provided to help us make a decision rather than to force us into one.
Once we had made the offer, we didn't hear back until last thing the following Monday (viewing was Saturday). This was slightly later than we'd hoped but I understand contacting the landlady may have taken some time, after the weekend. From then on everything went through Nicole and was fairly straightforward and overall I'm really pleased with our experience.
Comment on agent fees
The fees are definitely not as extortionate as other agencies, however I would say that the original breakdown of the deposit / fees was incorrect, just through a typo, so had to have amended. For ‚£300 fees I would expect that they would be correct first time.
