Fine when you are looking and handing over money, shocking when there is any issue. We had kitchen ceiling collapse during exam period. Not there fault it collapsed but we had to make things happen and clear up etc etc. Absolutely no rent reduction, apology etc etc. Then on check out a, usual for them it seems, list of costs even though apartment left cleaner than on arrival. They then have a great complaints procedure -- they totally refuse to discuss anything, no meeting to discuss, no phone calls accepted and refused to even discuss when we visited their office in person - everything in writing. They also advise it will take months to get deposit back if you dispute and are just extremely unpleasant. We found later that SDS (deposit holders) will correctly return the balance of your deposit only holding any disputed amount until dispute resolved.
The result of all this is huge frustration, waste of everyone's time, unnecessary delay in deposit return etc etc. We were not alone in this situation.
