I joined a house hold half way through a letting agreement with this easte agent. They at first seemed very friendly. We passed our 6 monthly inspections perfectly & paid our rent on time, so we didn't have many dealings with the Estate agent until we left the property after our contract had expired. We gave the appropriate notice etc. we cleaned the house and repainted over all marks on the wall. We passed our checkout inspection without any negative feedback. Once it was time for our deposit to be paid back, the estate agent turned against us and wanted to fine us for wear and tear and made up breakages which where not in our checkout report. Finally got our full deposit back once threatened to sue. There was no customer service and the situation was handled unprofessionally.

I then joined another house share and sat down with the same stage agent to find out what I needed to do. They said as they already knew me from the last rental, that I didn't need a new reference. Once I had moved in the agent changed their mind and lied to me about it, saying we had never had our orginal convo. Had to then pay for referencing, for them to make a quick ‚£60. Again handled poorly and lied to the customer.

I would never rent through this agent again.
What agent could do to change your mind?
The agency was unprofessional, penalising use after the checkout day, even though no problems were brought up at checkout when we were present. The agency then lied to me when changing their mind to made a few pounds. Terrible customer service.

If the property was that dirty the indepent checkout company would of picked up on this on checkout, giving the tenants a chance to correct any missed areas. In terms of the second property the tenant was in full communication prior to moving in, with the tenants who were subletting also in full communication with you. Unfortunatey you let both tenets down, which resulted on you proving a bad reference from the letting companies mistakes. Prior and post renting through you, the tenants have received positive references since.

In 17 years of being in business this is the first negative review we have received.
This tenant left the property he was referring to in April 2013. The property was left in a dirty condition which this tenant did not accept. The inventory check out process took place using an independent inventory company, a report was issued to both the tenants and the landlord for them to comment. The landlord made a number of comments, particularly with regard to cleanliness, the Inventory company agreed and incorporated them into the report.
With regard to the second house share that this tenant moved into, also 2 years ago, he did so without the landlords prior permission, the landlord asked us to carry out a financial reference. At no time did we say it would acceptable for the tenant to move in without references, given our previous experience of him, we would not have recommended him to the landlord. *

What agent could do to change your mind?
