Unfortunately I too have had dealings with this company and have found their tactics bullying, threatening and totally unprofessional, even down to simple spelling mistakes in correspondence with them and spelling my name wrongly. Their check out invoices are exhorbitant and unrealistic and their threats of legal action are over the top. I would strongly advise anybody considering renting a property through them to think very carefully before doing so because of all the problems you could incur at the end of your tenancy with them. Going by what has previously been written about them you can say goodbye to your deposit for at start, let alone all the other expenses that will be in your final bill. I totally agree with the previous comments and you should AVOID AVOID AVOID. I am also in contact with katedisappointed because these tactics should be stopped and I would urge anybody else who feels this strongly to do so as well. I would give this company a minus rating if I could do so.

what rubbish you talk, whats the point in using an independent inventory agent when you the agent add further things after the report has been issued, my solicitor even said this was wrong. So how is that fair and whats the purpose of the exercise anyway when you end up doing as you like - moving the goalpost for your own convenience...what an agent...

What rubbish you talk, you certainly don't take the independent inventory agents word as you decided to add so many things after the report was issued, so whats the point of an independent inventory agent when you end up doing as you like anyway.....as usual - make up your own rules......what an agent....

ALL tenants are at liberty to utilise the arbitration service if they consider deductions to be unfair. Comprehensive guidance notes are provided prior to the end of the tenancy to inform vacating tenants of the likely charges applicable Only If remedial work is deemed necessary by the independent check out clerk. The vast majority of tenants follow the guidance notes and receive prompt deposit Rrefunds.

I completely agree. We have had a terrible service from John Mortimer's to date with lots of evidence of their poor service thanks to their emails and inability to return phone calls. We are writing a complaint and would not recommend anyone use them. I am a Director for our block given that they were ripping us off constantly, someone had to watch them. Fortunately, another Owner has also become Director and despite initially thinking they couldn't be as bad as I told her, now is beyond frustra ...

1. respond to emails, phone calls and complaints. 2. deliver services paid for to an acceptable standard and in a timely manner. Basically do what they are paid to do.

The reviewer's experience actually mirrors my experience of John Mortimer Estates over the last year. Looking at your rating on here and reviews on other sites, it's a relatively common theme, especially for residents of Friars Mead. So maybe instead of petulantly accusing people of lying, tackle the problem like a reasonable business should...with some sort of tact. ...

Its so easy to make these comments and not even sign your nae to it. This person, whom I can guess wrote this, has distorted the facts completerly. This was a hearing with the management company run by the owners and the case was won by the owners. Its simply a case that 65a has a lease issued by the local authoirty and was outside the management of the rest of the development.The interpretation of the lease and what if any contributions they would make to the service charges had to be derterm ...

If John had bothered to read my post he would know that there are no arrears due and so his claim of my owing money is false and untrue. I agree with the surveyors report, problem was condensation. Condensation was caused by 3 leaks in the roof which was because John Mortimer neglected to maintain and repair the roof correctly over many years. John Mortimer fixed the 3 leaks which is admitting liability. Now they are trying to negate liability even though they have already made repairs and the evidence is starring them in the face. A poor performing agent like John Mortimer will make any excuse to cover their mistakes. After fixi ...

What agent could do to change your mind?
from day one the agent could have done everything better and tried to help their tennants. Maybe start to clean properties before allowing a tennant to move in, Better communication and telephone manners, have more than one member of staff trained to deal with certain things, be fair during checks and not have a one mind approach. respect all customers.
