During tenancy there were... Well lets just say a lot of problems. Every time a new one cropped up we'd report it straight away, and then a second and third time and nothing would happen.
Well, sometimes we'd get a letter back stating "This has been passed on to the landlord" followed by a return letter from the landlord effectively insulting us.
Examples of this were a toilet which didn't flush, an illegally placed gas meter, electric tripping self out for no reason, a light fixture which we found was held in by a wire only (and it wasn't a light light fixture either)
Now at the end of tenancy our landlord has tried to shift the entire cost of repairs etc on to us, while we've been trying to go through the legal channels to sort this, every other response from the landlord has been a "no you're paying the full amount 'throw in insult about how we treated the propperty'" St Moores has done a terrible job of mediating throughout.
What's worse is now we're going through TDS, St Moores is refusing to send us some of the details requested on the basis that "They were paid for by the landlord (photos etc)" Okay then, if that's true could we kindly have the admin fees back which were meant to pay for all that stuff.
Also a note, a few of the documents we needed to go through TDS we were never given. I had to request them seperately despite the fact that, according to TDS we should have been given them on moving in.
Additionally to this while looking for propperties the vast majority were in a bad state of repair, the few which weren't we were actually informed by the current tenants of other problems which hadn't been fixed (bug infestations etc)
We were informed that only ourselves and st moores had keys to the property. We find out midway through the year another letting agency also has a key when they let themselves in to do a viewing. I politely refused them and contacted st moores who informed us "Oh the landlord can do what he likes with regards to other agencies and giving out of keys" Bullshit he can.
I'm sorry, the more I'm writing this, the more annoyed I am at St Moores. For a Landlord great they have your best interests at heart. For a tenant... Look elsewhere because they're going to try to screw you at every corner...
What agent could do to change your mind?
Actually mediate
Present us with information we were meant to have.
Follow the rules they set out.
