Hi, i purchased my Freehold property at fernwood in newark just over a year ago. there are freehold and leasehold properties in the Village and all the open space land between these properties is owned by the developers David Wilson Homes. DWH started this development over 10 years ago and put in place OM property management - soon to be Firstport property service ( name change only again ) to manage their assets. We have been told that our district council refused to take on owner ship of the village land ,because they dud not want to pay for its upkeep ( yet still bill us full council tax for it ). So in effect we are paying twice for its upkeep.
We have also found out that OM have two contracts in effect with DWH ( that we are not allowed to see ) the First to manage their land and the Second to take ownership of the land after the last house is built on the main central phase.
Their contract to manage is for 5 years after the last house is built.
At no time were the residents informed of this or the extra billing not allocated to the fernwood accounts on purchase or by the sales teams in the showrooms.
In all the 10 years OM have been managing the Village their accounts have been totally wrong and not accepted by the residence for each year and are in dispute.
They are over charging , incorrect billing and not giving detailed invoice for proof of service provided and no matter how many properties are sold and income increases are fees just keep going up.
We have charges that are not on the accounts as income for transfer fees, changing your mortgage rate, fitting satellite dishes, solar panels or any additions to your home whether you are freehold or not we are all charged the same and its missing from the accounts.
In all the time they have been so called managing our village ( i call it a cash cow money making scheme ) they indicated they were not interested in obtaining the land until two weeks ago.
I would rather burn my home to the ground than have those rip off merchants become the village landlords.

We want the land handed over to the village parish council and for its upkeep to come under the parish councils precept saving each resident Hundreds and in some cases thousands of pounds per year.
We want a say in how our village is maintained.
We want fairness and equality for all residents.

Can anyone help me with the information on the process to get them gone.
How do we get rid of them.
What is the process for their removal
