Broughton's attitude to property management can be described in one word: lazy. I rented through them for four years. They refused to respond to emails. They would only deal by telephone. And they would never, ever deal with maintenance issues in a timely fashion.
The worst thing about them was when it came to returning our deposit. Despite stating in their contract that they would endeavour to return a deposit within 14 days, they didn't conduct the exit inspection for 4 weeks! After that, it took a further 2 months of chasing to get any response. In the end, they only returned 50% of my deposit stating that they were retaining the balance as "compensation" for "works". 10 emails and 3 recorded letters later, they still refuse to provide a breakdown of costs for the "works" or any evidence that "works" were even carried out. Throughout the process they have been extremely rude and dismissive.
