We had an absolutely shambolic experience with Greene & Co, which unfortunately is ongoing despite us having vacated our property.

There were innumerable issues with our property which our landlord failed to carry out her basic duties (eg. heating and hot water broken, repairs not authorised therefore G&C were 'unable' to do anything to assist us), at every turn we were met by rude, unfriendly and unsympathetic staff who shared our case around and therefore INTERNAL miscommunication was a constant battle to overcome, along with all the other practical faults of our property combined with a useless landlord.

We are due to be reimbursed with our rent and due to have our deposit returned to us and are in the course of taking legal action to claim both back because we now we are no longer tenants, we have no confidence at all that we will receive the money owed to us. The staff we have dealt with have told us contradictory stories throughout our tenancy which means we have absolutely no trust in the organisation or that we will receive the money owed to us.

When viewings were taking place for new tenants, we were never given notice (which is illegal) and therefore had people knocking at the door in the middle of the evening completely unexpectedly on a regular basis. When we did come to vacate, we had a week left as rightful tenants but as G&C knew we were moving to our new property earlier they authorised contractors to come in and treat our house as an empty home - we returned one evening to find all 3 beds piled on top of one another in one of the bedrooms and dust sheets covering the entire house meaning that we were unable to complete final cleaning tasks. We have since been informed that the cost of these will be deducted from our deposit (entirely unfairly as we were unable to finish up the small remaining bits of cleaning), however at this moment in time we doubt we will receive any of the remainder of our deposit back.

In short, I would advise extremely strongly against going with Greene & Co. Their fees are astronomical and the service abysmal. Go with a private landlord or a smaller agency, our experience so far with our new estate agents could not be more different.

Overall we believe this review to be factually incorrect and unfair. Greene & Co pride ourselves on providing an exceptional service to our landlords and tenants.

The tenants had a dedicated Property Manager for the duration of their tenancy with cover provided by the Property Management team for absences to ensure a continuous service for the tenants with full handover notes provided on every occasion.

In this instance the landlord is based abroad so on occasion there were difficulties communicating with her however the tenants were kept fully updated, including when the office was closed during the evening and weekends. This was recognised by the tenants at time as the Property Manager has received feedback from the tenants previously thanking her for all of the effort she went to. This was also acknowledged this to the Head of Property directly by the tenants.

The lettings team at Crouch End informed them of all viewings verbally and access was never refused but the tenants admitted that they had miscommunicated this between them in one instance.

Due to the issues between the landlord and tenant the landlord requested notice was served, the tenants requested to vacate before the expiry of the notice which was agreed at the landlords discretion. The end date was confirmed after the rent was paid however this has now been returned by the landlord and the tenants have again been kept updated throughout.

The deposit is still outstanding as the landlord is assessing deductions to be made as the property was not returned in the same condition as it was let.
