Horrible experience with David St James, totally unprofessional, rude, telling people off...Hanging up on their customers,
They have absolutely no desire to act professionally or even to do any work. If something went wrong 'it was always the landlord's responsibility' not theirs.
After the contracts were signed there seemed to be no real desire to actually do any work - standard practice seems to be not to ring you back or when you ring the office to have some other agent tell you they're out after two minutes (the office is one small room - it should take two seconds to see if they're in or not...........), emails going unreplied to for several days - not even a 'we'll look into this and get back to you' token email - nothing. And then not much help when they did get back. They did not seem to liase with the landlord and would become agitated if we had the audacity to ask for things to be done to the flat that might make it more habitable/safe to live in. It's taken well over a month to get our deposit back for a flat we left in better condition than when we moved in. Apparently nothing to do with them, it's all down to the landlord, but if they can't act responsibly or get the people on their books to act responsibly then why do they exist? All in all a very unpleasant experience. I am so happy we will never deal with David St James again.
