I have never been so compelled to write a negative review.
Before I begin I'd like to warn.....


The most appalling service I have ever had the misfortune to encounter.
During my third year of university I incorrectly made the decision to move into a property offered by Student Digz. Before my fellow flatmates and I moved into the property we made an agreement with the agency to have another viewing allowing us to ascertain what areas of the house we wanted to be looked at. We specified numerous problems with the property and were assured by Student Digz (as part of our contract) they would deal with all issues before we moved in (September 2010).

Upon day of arrival it was clear that little if not any progress had been made. The living room stank of what can only be described as smokers' paradise. In the centre of this room lay a table with 3 legs upside down. Cigarette butts littered the floor and the room showed a distinct lack of any cleaning whatsoever. The kitchen had mice from day one, wallpaper was hanging, the fridge was malfunctioning, draws didn't work, in fact - the boiler itself didn't work, meaning a lovely freezing cold shower each morning. The "garden" can only be described as a tip - bottles littered the ground, weeds overflowing everywhere, unfinished walls and poor guttering. Throughout the upstairs rooms damp was evident with each window blown.

The majority of these problems were noted before we moved in and upon arrival it's fair to say we were extremely unhappy and in fact, angry. Having immediately gone to the Student Digz office we were told maintenance would be straight round, they also "lost" our initial contract and the list we provided before moving in and even had the front to blame us! I then took to contact the previous tenants who informed me they had a substantial amount of their deposit taken away for damages and such for professional cleaners; however it was clear that this had not been reinvested.

The maintenance team eventually showed up a few weeks later yet did little noticeable work. I recall one specific time when we received a letter informing us that there would be a council inspection (that same day!!) and that they wanted us to ensure all rooms were tidy, the letter wasn't even received 24 hours before giving us no time. However, when the inspector did arrive I heard one member of the maintanence team actually have the audacity to blame us for the rubbish outside which was there before we even moved in.

Towards the end of our tendency I was relieved to being leaving such a shambles of a property and looking forward to receiving ALL of my deposit (£242.82) back. Photos on entering and leaving the property were taken to provide evidence if needed. I could not believe what happened next. Student Digz refused to return our deposit!! Citing they needed £200 for professional cleaning! I took it upon myself to visit them in person to discuss this, to which I often received the usual reply of "the manager isn't in" and having emailed and rang (leaving messages) I often received no reply at all.

This company seems to lack any customer service skills. I would not recommend them to anyone. They are simply my worst memory of my time in Swansea. I am now with another agency that treats us with far more respect. I would recommend using a private landlord if possible and avoiding Student Digz at all cost. I can only assume that any positive review on this site or any other must be from a member of their own staff. I can evidence any claim I have made on this review if required as I do not wish this monstrosity of an agency on anyone else.
