Beware this agent for property management!We are a young family who are letting out a property in Bristol for the first time. We chose Andrews as a letting agent as they were very large. We are paying 15% management fee and the service we receive is extremely poor. They send in contractors against our instructions and then charge us for it, and very rarely respond back to any phone calls or emails we make. We have never been given any inspection reports which are normally done quarterly by other agents. Have just signed up for a 2 year contract which we weren't very happy to do but were assured that it was a good idea. Now due to the poor service we are trying to move letting agents but the very confusing misleading contract says we are stuck paying Andrews an original letting fee of over £1000. On contacting other estate agents this fee is normally only £50! Which would be payable by the tenants. We feel that we have been taken advantage of because of our inexperience. we understand that we are stuck with this agent for another 2 years, but would like someone to investigate Andrews so that no one else falls into the same trap. It would also be nice if the service we actually received from Andrews could at least equal that provided by other agents!
What agent could do to change your mind?
They could have provided better service, answered our phone calls and emails, listened to us when we asked them not to send contractors in, explained what is involved in contracts when asked, done inspections of the property, when they took money off us incorrectly they could have returned it!!
