I am in the process of trying to secure a buy to let re mortgage. Surely quite a simple thing to do as the mortgage is for less than 70% LTV, the property is fully let and the rent covers the mortgage nearly three times over. However, I'm now into the fourth month of the application with every month costing me ~£160 in additional mortgage repayments due to the original mortgage reverting to the borrowers SVR. Trying to get a straight answer out of the mortgage advisor has and still is proving nearly impossible. Until I mentioned taking legal action and contacting the Financial Ombudsman service my calls and emails were largely ignored and treated with contempt. It seems that once your application is submitted and your fee taken (delays with this also!!) you are completely unimportant and it takes as long as it takes. In nearly thirty years of having mortgages, arranging re-mortgages and dealing with house purchases, sales and lettings, I've never been subject to such abject incompetence. The level of service is way below anything I have received by any organisation anywhere in the world, this has been the most stressful think I have ever done and I still don't have the mortgage finalised. I would NEVER recommend using Atkinson Stilgoe for mortgage applications are their service is abysmal. PLEASE, PLEASE, save yourself the stress and go elsewhere as they don't seem capable of delivering acceptable customer service and have no idea of the effect that this has on their customers. Shameful!!!

Do not trust Atkinson Stilgoe agents they can not be trusted and are only out for there commission only !!! they give all other estate agents a bad name and will leave a sour taste once you have had any sort of under dealings with them ...
