I am a BTL landlord looking for further properties and requested a viewing of the Property in Ashton for either Saturday 17th Jan or Sunday 18th Jan. I was told this was not possible and so arranged a viewing for Tuesday 20th at 3.30pm.
I arrived at the property on Tuesday the 7th at 3.20 pm but by 3.35pm there was no sign of the viewing representative. I telephoned the office only to be told that they had cancelled all viewings that day because the company vehicle had gone for a service. I had re arranged my afternoon to attend this viewing and had travelled a considerable distance from Macclesfield but the person on the phone didn't seem bothered. All she could say was well we did phone round to tell people.
Well they had my home number, my mobile and my email. There were no missed calls or messages on either phone. There was one email listing other properties but no mention of cancelling my appointment. When I said I had not received any phone calls all she could do was repeat 'we did phone round to everyone. Also I have never heard of being able to book a car in for service on the morning of that service so they must have known days earlier so they had ample opportunity to make contact for some time.
Their actions or lac of them were very unprofessional and their attitude bordering on flippant.
I will not be viewing or buying this or any other property from Ryder and Dutton and if I do buy in this area will certainly not be using them as lettings agents.
What agent could do to change your mind?
The agent could have shown some basic manners and common sense and either not booked the appointment in the first place, having made the appointment made sure that they cancelled it with me, or perhaps used a garage who supply courtesy cars so that viewings were not affected.

We are really sorry that there has been an error over this viewing appointment. We will be investigating exactly what has happened to ensure there is no repetition. I am also sorry that you were not happy with the attitude shown. This is not something that is a regular occurrence and is not a reflection of the service we usually provide as evidenced by other reviews, however on this occasion we obviously have to admit that it does not seem to have been dealt with well. Should you choose to view other properties with us we would ensure these were conducted by the branch manager at a time to suit your convenience.

Hello Jo-Anne I was very sorry to hear that you were disappointed with our service, bearing in mind that we managed to get you a mortgage which suited all of your requirements. Unfortunately, when applying for a remortgage, we can only ever estimate the amount of money you will need to clear or "redeem" the existing mortgage, as the balance on your account changes every day. Therefore we can never provide exact costs until the Solicitor obtains your closing (redemption) balance. Nevertheles ...
