My family and I were tenants for 2 years. The initial estate agent in Ramsgate was pleasant enough although lazy and we ended up paying for references etc and chasing them up ourselves to move in a reasonable timeframe. Once in the property, we had one inspection. Come moving out, were hostile, rude and arrogant and at first tried to claim the previous tenants misuse of the property was ours and questioned why we would have accepted the property in that condition and we should have submitted in writing a list of faults within 7 days of moving in, isn't that their job? At the end of a very traumatic few days of phonecalls with the manager, a exrtremely arrogant Mr Damien Cooke, he 'found' our tenancy agreement and apologised but proceeded to charge us £200 to repaint the frontroom saying the neutral stone colour was disgraceful. If we had left it the deep badly painted chocolate brown it was originally, we would have been fine!
We will never go through them again and strongly recommend anyone else not to even contemplate them, nasty pieces of work!
What agent could do to change your mind?
