Legislation dictates that a deposit must be registered within 30 days of receipt, this can be done by landlord or agent. On this occasion the landlord opted to receive the deposit and handle the registration personally. We transferred the deposit to the landlord of which you were aware and was clearly stated in the tenancy agreement that you signed. The tenancy agreement also stated clearly which scheme the landlord had advised that she would register the deposit with. If you had taken the time to read your tenancy agreement then you would know the above and saved a considerable amount of time and undue stress.
Re : Your deposit return - After several weeks and numerous phone calls on which we repeatedly advised you that your landlord held your deposit you finally took heed and contacted her. It appears that you are having a dispute with her relating to a fire that you caused by leaving an unattended candle. I am somewhat confused as to what expectations you have from Castle to assist in your situation. We are the non managing agent, we do not hold your deposit and are not involved in the dispute you are currently having with your landlord.
We have acted within the guidelines of all legislation relating to deposit registration and also within the guidelines set by our regulatory and governing bodies.
