Mark Ashley Estate Agents lied about the background of the tenant who turned out to be DSS (despite the agent having a policy of not hiring DSS candidates). The tenant did not pay rent for 4.5 months (leaving them approx £4500 in arrears) and I was unable to remove them from the property due to their circumstances. Mark Ashley Estate Agents have refused to refund any of the £1700 fee paid at the outset of the tenancy. The agent also made promises about fixtures which I did not agree to (including installation of a shower which I did not endorse) - this lead to further complications with the tenant. In addition their have been a catalogue of administrative errors in the process which have added additional expense and complication to the process (incorrect dates on contracts, poor filing of records / audit trail). When raised to the owner of the company he was very difficult to deal with and would not admit his own or his staffs mistakes in the process. Exceptionally unprofessional and ultimately did not provide the service that I paid dearly for (saving management time, reduction of risk and reduced cost). I highly recommend landlords steer clear of Mark Ashley.

Admit poor service and offer a full refund where they have clearly been at fault.
