I've rented property using five letting agents on Teesside and Gowland White have been the least bad by some distance. Their ability to deal with property issues was variable, but at their worst they were no worse than typical for letting agent standards (we had problems, but more from the contractors not setting expectations properly than from the letting agents) and at their best the response speed was positively impressive. The inventory at checkin was by far the most thorough I have ever seen; points off for performing the checkout without us being present. There was some to-and-fro over the deposit return but far from the worst that we have experienced. Habitually polite and pleasant, this is as close to a recommendation for a letting agent as I can get.
