I have lived in this property for two years now and I have had constant problems each year. The first year started with cleaners every week who cleaned our rooms thoroughly, changed our bedsheets, changed our bins, washed up and hoovered the entire house therefore I expected that in the second year. However, this was stopped without any notice or explanation. The cleaners were a massive selling point for the majority of the people living here and now we do not get that, so for any perspective clients, do not believe what they promise to give you!
Furthermore, for the past 12 weeks our boiler has broken once a week. Each time is has broken, we have been without heating and hot water for at least 48 hours so we have had no hot water for at least a month. Today we discovered that we will have no heating or hot water for another 72 hours! It is less than 10 degrees outside and this 11 bedroom house is absolutely freezing, it is beyond a joke now. I have had to miss university due to illness which I have developed due to my living conditions. We are unable to wash our clothes or dishes because of the lack of hot water so the house is a mess and it is becoming very difficult to go to university with no clean clothes and no hot water.
Finally, we have had problems with our front door as the lock keeps breaking, so prolet put the company in contact with me to make me sort it out. I wouldn't mind too much if the locksmith was polite and called me at reasonable hours however he called me at 7:30pm and was extremely rude. I am a tenant and should not have to put up with this. Prolet should tell him how to get access to our house and where our parking is, I should not have to do this. He also wanted me to miss university and stay in all day to wait for him, how ridiculous!
I would never recommend this company to anybody, I am in two minds whether or not to complain to the university about this matter as nobody is listening to our complaints. If you are reading this and considering this company, please listen to everything I say because every student I know who uses this company feels the same way. I pay £550 a month for 11 months of the year which is more than any other student I know so I at least expect heating and hot water!
What agent could do to change your mind?
The problem should have been fixed when it first occurred 12 weeks ago. Even compensation will not make up for the horrific conditions I have had to put up with for the last 12 weeks. I want cleaners to tidy our rooms every week again and I want the staff to start speaking to me with the respect and politeness that I deserve.
