Regarding ongoing maintenance issues we have to consistently chase staff to establish whether a contractor has been instructed to visit the property to provide a quote. Then we have to chase if the quote has been approved and then we have to chase to find out when the work is being done. In addition to this if a maintenance issue has not been resolved, instead of sending the original contractor back to rectify the issue, a different contractor is instructed. Furthermore too many 'generalists' are given jobsheets when a specialist is required e.g. we had a gas engineer attend our home to investigate and quote for a job that required a specialist. The engineer even said Turners should have instructed a specialist. We also had a 'general builder' instructed to repair an electrical issue. He subsequently cocked it up and a qualified electrician then had to rectify the problem. Therefore maintenance problems are taking much longer to resolve than they would if a specialist was employed. Subsequently Landlords are having to fork out more money on maintenance by having to pay for the same job twice and tenants are being inconvenienced by having to tolerate the problem for a longer period of time and by having to take time off work more than once to wait in for contractors. Some members of staff are not pleasant to deal with either.

Dear Sir/Madam. Please could you provide us with some more information regarding this or call the office with further details, we are not aware of any works that have progressed in the way you have described but rest assured are keen to keep tenants happy throughout their tenancies, in order to diagnose some rare issues is does take one or more contractors, especially if for example on a modern high pressure central heating system where issues can be water, plumbing, electrical or handyman issues, of course we would always aim to solve issues quickly and if a contractor does in fact carry out repairs that fall below our standards, or we are forced to instruct another due to this, the landlord would not then pay for the job to be completed twice. This would be an issue we dealt with at office level direct with a contractor and the landlord would still only be charged once. Please do not hesitate to contact our office with more details so we are able to ascertain what property and issue you refer too. Thank you.

Hi Susan, I am at a loss as to why you would say this as the tenant rented your property in 2011 till 2014 and when he came to leave I worked with you to get damages from his deposit and then we sold the property and completed on the 9th May so have absolutely no idea why you would say this. ...
