This is an absolutely horrendous agency. They are out to get you, your money and are absolutely rude about it.
A failure to fix the water heater was a huge problem in winter. They also lied about the state of the property: the shower (something that obviously a new tenant will not have the chance to try out) was faulty and we spent the better part of the year bathing out of a bucket. Yes a bucket, like in a third world country. Furthermore, they charged £250 for cleaning at the end of the year: for the record this is a 2 bedroom apartment and a quote for a 5 bedroom apartment is £189/
Alex himself is a rude, uncooperative and will only perked up after i had paid him some manner of deposit.
What agent could do to change your mind?
Dont work as an estate agent. his attitude is just too poor to be in this industry.

I'm very sorry to read the negative feedback regards your tenancy via Fyfe Mcdade. It is also a great shame you feel you have to get quite so derogatory about it, not to mention that some of your accusatory comments are simply not true.
Hopefully you can allow me to once again try to clear the air and present the facts more clearly here.
Firstly, you elected to rent this flat remotely from abroad without setting a foot in the property to view it before commencing your tenancy. My dealings throughout the entirety of the marketing period were with your flat mate who attended the property on three separate occasions and confirmed she was the decision maker for both of you - meaning she was accountable to vet the place on your behalf.
On three separate occasions it was clear that there was NO shower at the property, apart from the rudimentary attachment on the bath taps. I highlighted this point also. We have not mislead you here.
Fyfe Mcdade cannot be held accountable for your frustrations about the lack of a shower when you have entered into a tenancy with the prior knowledge that there was no shower available. I'm afraid the fault here lies squarely between you and your flatmate for not communicating better and discussing the fixtures and fittings being offered in the property, before committing to your tenancy.
Secondly, with respect to the water heater, this was handled by our property management team and as I understand it they had several tradesmen attend, but there was an issue with the electrics / wiring which prolonged resolution. It is very easy to constantly blame the agent when actually it is quite common in older buildings like this for wiring to go or boilers to go and take time to resolve. Especially if you have to run decisions up the chain via freeholders or similar. It certainly was not a case of not acting. I stand by our property management department. They are all ARLA registered and act very proactively across our entire management portfolio.
Finally, with respect to the cleaning, this is a very common and misunderstood point as to why the cost seems so high. I'm confident the price you've had quoted for a 5 bed house at £189.00 will NOT be for a full end of tenancy professional clean. A professional clean is an entirely different beast to a regular cleaner going in.
Every single inch of a flat is cleaned to within an inch of its life and this takes as much as 6-7 hours on a 2bed flat like this. The carpets and any curtains are steam cleaned, inside of drawers are scrubbed, not a stone is left unturned. With that in mind £250 is not unreasonable and I once again stand by our cleaners. Had you stuck by the terms of your contract and given the flat back with a full professional clean as asked of you, we wouldn't have had to use our cleaners and charge you for it. You were more than free to shop around and book your own cleaners but you did not organise this in time for your end of tenancy inspection.
Finally, on a personal note, I fail to see where exactly I have been uncooperative, misleading or that we are as you put it 'only here to get your money'. I think these comments are wholly unnecessary and innaccurate. We are passionate about people and property and I personally hate to see anyone unhappy in their homes.
Either way, I wanted to go on record to give our side of the story and apologise if you feel you have not had a pleasant tenancy or experience via Fyfe Mcdade.
I wish you every success in your future endeavors and hope your next tenancy is going well.
With best regards,
Alex Taniewski-Elliott
