My wife and I arranged an evening viewing of a rental property after finding it on Rightmove. We turned up on time and were met by a pleasant man who let us and another couple viewing into the property.
My wife and I were impressed by the property so called as soon as Boococks opened the following morning to start an application at which point we were told the property was already under application by somebody else and had been for a while... This was the very first mention that the property was already applied for, despite my wife having spoken to several people to book the viewing and also our meeting face-to-face with the agent.
We were told the current application was delayed so the landlord had put it back on the market. The application evidently wasn't that delayed, however, as we were called back within 4 hours to say it had now been accepted and we were unable to apply.
Despite speaking with 3 separate people not one of them has the common courtesy to inform us the property was already being applied for. Another dishonest letting agent that we will avoid as a rule in future.

Comment on agent fees
I've had to reduce the price of my house by ‚£14,000. But the estate agent's fees haven't reduced accordingly.
