Had a very inconsistent service from the start. None of the letting agents who showed us around the house knew any of the answers to our questions and hesitated when we asked them to find out for us, I can't remember the name of the girl. She also told us the wrong price for the deposit. We were also NEVER told/warned that the property we are in is actually FOR SALE. Which is completely misleading and could totally affect how long we are able to stay in the property.
Mahasin had an extremely low standard of communication with all 4 tenants, and have us only a couple of days notice that our moving-day had to be shifted back a week (which left one of our housemates homeless for 6 days) - and she only told one of us about that - didn't contact us individually, but luckily we know each other! She always said she'd phone back and never did, didn't ever sound like she had any idea what she was on about and generally was very slow at getting back to us about anything. The documents required to allow us to move into the property was never made clear to us, so when we only had 2 days to gather our 'second guarantor' info, this was incredibly unhelpful and really stressed us out. Otherwise, she was of quite a polite manner.
Secondly, Isabel, who was in charge of our maintenance was a little better - however, lacked understanding/speed when hearing of our severe unhappiness with how the house was left (dirty, broken furniture left in, decorators stuff left over, mould etc). We've lived here for a month now and most of these issues still aren't sorted. However, anything to do with a contractor has been pretty speedy, but this was probably due to the nature of their helpful contractors - as it only takes a phone call from her. Upon moving in we realised we had a rusting, mouldy, smelly fridge which was definitely not fit for human use and deemed 'irreversible' by the contractor - we're still waiting for a new fridge. We've had many problems, such as not being presented with any health and safety certificates for the boiler etc, being told how the boiler works, being told the house is for sale, having the house prepared to a fit standard, and the garden being left in a state.
In short, their lack of clear communication and efficiency is worrying, and I would not rent through them again in any future tenancy. We're 5 respectable professionals, who all have jobs and wanted to find somewhere to settle with a decent agent, instead, we're just settling for what we've been given which is incurably sub-standard. (no personal offence to either employee of PM, you've obviously been given crap training/resources by your management and this has taken affect on your ability to do the job)
What agent could do to change your mind?
Fixing all of the issues above with poor communication and lack of clarity at the beginning, and lack of effort throughout.

Overpriced for the service received.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review, I am sorry you were disappointed in the level of service provided, I will deal with your points in order:
We market many properties throughout the year and I would love to say that each member of staff knows everything about every property but this will never be the case, however they are taught to call the office or the landlord if unsure of the answer as this will mean the correct response is given.
I am sorry you felt the property was not upto standard when you moved in. On each let we do we always endeavour to present them to the highest possible standard but it seems on this occasion certain issues may have been overlooked.
At the time of you taking the property it was indeed For Sale, we were under the impression that the landlord would withdraw it from the sales market when we had found a tenant but they decided to sell it as an ongoing investment with you as tenants in residence. It has since been sold and the new owners have instructed us to continue managing the property meaning if you so wish you should be able to stay in the property longer term.
With regards to your move date, the landlord was organising works direct with his contractor but got the dates wrong. We were disappointed that there was a need to delay it as appreciate plans would already be in place, unfortunately though this was a situation out of our control but take on board the points you raise about how it was communicated.
With regards to advising only one person about the situation, we do make one person the lead tenant which was explained at the time of taking the property. This then saves us and you having the same conversation 4 times with each individual person, then any information can be communicated by that person throughout the rest of the group.
Feedback to a small business like ours is very important whether positive or negative, this helps us improve our service and ensure the highest standard is being offered at all times.
I wish you all the best for the remainder of your tenancy and should you extend it as a goodwill gesture we will waive an extension fee payable.
Regards
Graham
