We instructed Mr. Hartshorn in connection with the compulsory sale of our property to the Department for Transport in connection with HS2. Despite the dilatory nature of the way HS2's agent conducted his activities, Mr. Hartshorn continued to push matters forward and spent a long time prodding their agent and providing further data to justify his initial valuation. To assist, he took his laptop to Canada whilst on holiday and conducted negotiations from there and, after his return to work, checked some dodgy measurements upon which HS2 were relying to come up with a valuation. Without Mr. Hartshorn's persistence and data collection I feel that we would have ended up with an even more protracted time scale and a lower settlement. Consequently I have no hesitation in recommending him to others in our village who will also be selling out to the government.
Comment on agent fees
His fees were paid by HS2 as this was a compulsory acquisition following the successful service of a blight notice by me
