Ian was supportive without being pushy. The vendors had lost their original buyer and, as a registered interest with Helmores, Ian advised me immediately that this property was back on the market. It gave me the opportunity to steal a march on other interested parties and to head down to Devon that same weekend - I made an offer on the day of my visit - and happily will shortly become the new owner of The Round House. Ian kept me apprised of developments, reminded me of elements in the negotiating process that I needed to fulfil and the timings thereof and made it clear that he was always at the end of the telephone should I have any concerns or questions.

Covid 19 struck the UK in March 2020, the initial damp was reported in January 2019, and it took till October 2019 to carry out any inspection. A report was passed to Helmores shortly after this in early November 2019. Sadly, the landlords wife did pass also in March 2020. So both incidents you mentioned occurred 14 months after the damp was raised & 5 months after the report.
