Ive rented from TJ for the past two years, they were awful from day one. Didn't show up for the viewing, bare in mind we were not from Nottingham at the time and had travelled a long way, we waited 2 hours outside the property, only then for the current tenant to awkwardly show us around her home. We decided to go ahead with the letting of this particular house as it was a lovely home and we needed somewhere in Nottingham fast.
They never carried out an inventory before we moved in so therefore none of the damage caused by the last tenants 5 year occupation was accounted for, which will now most likely be 'our damage'. When we applied for a new house a couple of months ago they refused to give us a reference unless we paid £20 which apparently was in our contract, it was not.
Every problem the house has had which is quite a few as its old and not been looked after properly before we came has been ignored or be sorted months and months after we reported.
We have decorated the entire house and sanded floors and carried out our own repair jobs to ensure the home we pay to live in is to our standard of living.
All promises such as chimneys being swept every 6 months was a complete lie, 2 years later still not been swept.
Any contact of either rent being slightly late due to pay dates or any other problems has not been recorded and as though we never had the contact, id always advise on e-mailing or writing a letter.
A few occasions work men or 'friends of the landlord' were sent to the property for some kind of maintenance without us being told. Workmen came to our house and let themselves in whilst we weren't in, played around with our house alarm and tempered with the fuse box which we know they'd of had to snoop around for as its not easily found.
And to end of when we signed for the property on the morning of our moving day we asked if the property was unfurnished as this is what we had requested, we were told it was unfurnished. It was most definitely not.
