Ham Estates -
We were pretty desperate to find somewhere really fast and came across HAM estates, they accommodated us relatively quickly, so that was good. My gripe is the state of the apartment and the professionalism of the landlords (ham).
The apart one was bedroom was a one bedroom in north london. The windows were old fashioned single pane windows and you could hear everything, on a friday and saturday night all the chaos of drunks walking up and down the road. The flat had mice, which i caught one in a trap and thought that was the end only to discover there was a family of them. We had squirrels in our attick, which would scurry around, so that was the sound you fell asleep too, that and the drunks. The windows did not insulate at all so we had to get a fan heater, also the one radiator in the house didn't turn on.
We could hear our neighbors beneath us, which typically had to be rockers or something and would play a guitar and sing crap till 2 - 4 in the morning on friday or saturday night. I went down to them once, the peace lasted a couple of weekend and they were back playing.
So with Mice - Squirrels - No heating - Noisy Neighbors Underneath - it was a crap flat 660 Holoway road if you are thinking of looking there.. run away ..fast.
Then came the inevitable leaving after 6 months , thank god we had a 6 month break clause. Trying to get our deposit back of that piece of sh** Ed Hobs. We did eventually, because its a government registered deposit so they have to. I found him very un professional, he made it so awkward, like he liked being in a weird position of power so he wouldn't do a simple thing and sign it off and give us our deposit.
Don't go unless desperate
