I wouldn\'t normally bother to leave reviews for agents - they tend to do very little to earn their money so my relationship with them is usually one of mild disinterest. Not so with Platinum. Not lied to us, nor charged us for things that no reputable agent would charge for. Or threatened us with eviction when we objected to those charges. Or basically been unbelievably crap!

I have been renting a property with platinum since Jan. Since I have moved in they are very quick to take your money for quarterly inspections. However as soon as you have a problem they never return your call. The plumber never shows up when he saids. I have been waiting for the leak under the sink to be fixed for 3 weeks. We are always disappointed to read comments of this type. As a Letting agent we advise Landlords when maintenance work is necessary, we cannot undertake work without the Landlords authority. This is a complainant about maintenance we had no control over by tenants who compounded the issues by their lifestyle and poor ventilation. We have written over 3000 successful tenancies. We are friendly, skilled, qualified professionals that endeavour to give fair advice to both Landlords and tenants....

We are currently renting via platinum. Every thing we have phoned about has been ignored, emails have been unanswered and calls not returned. We didnt have a proper lock on our front door for over a week and they didnt seem to think it was an issue and when a cupboard door was found to be broken I was told to "buy some screws". Would not recommend.. In fact quite the opposite....

Worst experience with platinum estates! They were very nice, understanding and reassuring but once I was in the property it hasn\'t been cleaned, there was holes in the walls, windows that wouldn\'t lock, mould and water coming through, an oven which was in a ghastly state! Yes the oven and fridge was replaced ill give them that but they\'d fitted new carpets which was the cheapest you could get, they\'d quickly coated the manky wallpaper with a magnolia colour. It is always our intention to maintain our managed properties to a high standard however we point out that landlords have to authorise maintenance work and if we do not get authority non-emergency work cannot be done. I have been a tennant with Platinum Estates for the last 5 years and am very happy with their service, I find them very polite to deal with and they go the extra mile to help you. When ever i have had a problem they have dealt with it very fast and it has been sorted straight away. I would not change them being my letting agency as i have moved a couple of times and as everyone knows moving can be very stressfull they have made it as calm and easy as possible....

Agree with the comments on here... Worst agents I have ever dealt with. They consistently lie, don't deal with the most basic (and serious) of maintenance issues, and constantly blame the landlord. Their office staff are rude and objectionable, and as a company they are the worst sort of money-grubbers. We have also been charged for inspections that they clearly didn't carry out, and a refusal to pay the tenancy renewal fee (which is your right!) is met by a threat of eviction. They don't give o....

After reading previous reviews, one thing I will say for Platinum - they do not discriminate - they are ABSOLUTELY APPALLING to landlords and tenants alike. Absolutely nothing. They are cowboys. I would have reported then to the Property Ombudsmen had I not moved abroad. I hope you black list them as it is unfair to inflict them on the unsuspecting public. We are understandably disappointed to read such vitriolic abuse. I am uncertain exactly which property this relates to. All I can really say is that the facts speak for themselves, over 10 years and thousands of tenancies we have had only 1 written complaints from a Landlord that was not resolved to the Landlord satisfaction. Turning any tenant down is difficult. It is a rare event, though sometimes it is required. The tenant in this case required a guarantor due to the maternity status. The reference failed due to delays in returning the required forms. We do stand by the position that if a parent is not willing be guarantor them we would unlikely accept the tenant. We explained to the tenant her complaint procedure option which she choose not to follow. Though clearly the applicant and our view of events differ, ....

We moved into a house with dangerous electricity, a past rodent problem, had not been cleaned for a long time and had a garden that can only be described as a forest. Absolutely agree with all above. Inspired me to write and submit my own review as brought back so many painful memories of a truly awful 'estate agent'. Dear Becky and Sam, Thank you for your honesty. My partner and I are seriously thinking about selling our property. whilst I have massive doubts about P.E(and their billing etc)I hope your honesty will help effect a change of heart from him. Unfortunately, P.E have managed the property for a while and we do not live near.. any advice RE abetter agent is welcome.......
