These are certainly the worst letting agents I have ever come across, inefficient, rude and completely incompetent, and totally out of their depth when it comes to sorting out any problems, would never use them ever again, stay away! They are very unhelpful and specialise in getting it WRONG first time...

As a new tenant in Winchmore Hill I am new to Peter Barry Estate Agents. I have found them to be very courteous, transparent and efficient. Despite having some of the same reservations as most people about Estate Agents in general, I'm very happy with Peter Barry. I used them to purchase a flat, find tenants and I also use their management service. They are very friendly indeed and when I've visited their office or met any of the team I've always found their major priority is to provide the service I need and to make my life easier. The house we were interested in renting was being advertised with peter Barry. Normally Estate agents can have a pretty bad 'rep' however everyone we have dealt with at Peter Barry has proved this reputation wrong (this is a compliment by the way!!) My experience with Peter Barry agents has been a very positive one. The staff are diligent, professional and conscientious. My dealings were with Charlotte, Julian, Leyla and Chloe, and all of them offered a polite and helpful service. I have let a property in the past with another agent and it became clear that the management of the property was less than satisfactory. I feel far more secure now in the hands of these agents who have successfully let the property for me again....

Following the recent letting of my flat in Enfield I would recommend Peter Barry to all my friends and family, the staff were helpful, friendly and professional throughout. I can not thank them enough for their help especially Charlotte, Chloe and Julian. Over the years I have dealt with several agents in the area but none have been as good as Peter Barry they were a pleasure to deal with and I will certainly use them again....

Friendly and effective teamwork from this company. They went out of their way to arrange my viewing at very short notice. Good follow up without being pushy. Once the process started the were clear on what I had to do. Good support throughout. After I moved in they were effective in responding to faults mentioned. Even though I dealt with a few different members of staff at the office things always happened smoothly and everyone knew what was happening....

Absolutely the worst and dishonest estate agent I've dealt with. I would not recommend Peter Barry based on my recent purchase. They lied to myself and my vendor about the length of the chain (we were told 3 but there were 8+ and growing!), terms of the sales within the chain and they also told my vendor I had pulled out which was not true and never part of discussions I had with them. The sales manager dealing with the sale and subsequent chain was 'removed' from the company and upon this they ...

What agent could do to change your mind?
Do the job they were hired to do. Manage all parties involved in the sale, give truthful and accurate updates and be a positive contributor to the process. Although the owner is not involved in the day-to-day running of the estate agent, there was no reason he could not have dropped them a line and tell them to sort the mess which was created out. This is responsible management. The company is poor from top to bottom.

The review given is 100% accurate which is why it will not be removed Peter Barry should have been responsible and given the adequate customer service at the time of sale not now they've seen a true and worrying review that reflects directly the experience with them. The sale FYI ONLY went through after the buyer had to visit the property and then deal directly with the vendor, from this point there was no further interaction with Peter Barry apart from any contractual interactions. We are very happy with all aspects of service relating to the letting of my flat in Winchmore Hill. Other agents had my property on the market for a few weeks but with no joy. Within the first week, Peter Barry had started marketing, found a tenant and had them referenced by the week end. Great service! My tenant is lovely and we get on very well! Many thanks to Kris and his team....

We recently engaged the services of Peter Barry in October 2011 for a flat valuation. We were disappointed with the level of customer service received. We enquired regarding the research done to value our flat. The comparables used were inappropriate both in numbers and in quality. I would not recommend the services of this company....

This is clearly a client of Peter Barry Surveyors rather than Peter Barry Estate Agents - I have let www.allagents.co.uk know but they have not responded. If someone is unhappy with a free valuation from an estate agent they don't complain they simply don't put their property on the market with that agent.....

Peter BarryҀ™s Complaints Procedure
Peter Barry aim to offer you the best possible service, but there may be occasions when you feel you have cause for complaint. If so, we will always try and resolve the problem quickly and to your satisfaction. If you are unhappy with our response, you can take your complaint further through our complaints procedure.
How to complain
Step 1
Contact one of our members of staff by phone. Usually the best member of staff to contact is the person who dealt with the matter you are concerned about. If you are uncomfortable with this, please feel free to contact the Proprietor by phone to resolve the matter

We hope that we are able to resolve your complaint by phone but if you are not happy with the response you receive, or if the complaint requires some further investigation, we will request that you submit details of the complaint in writing to the Proprietor of Peter Barry at the address below.

We will acknowledge your written complaint within 3 working days and you will receive a detailed written response within 15 working days.
Step 3
If you are not satisfied with the response that you have received from our Proprietor you may approach The Property Ombudsman (TPO). The TPO is an independent regulator and Peter Barry has taken out voluntary membership so that our customers have the comfort of knowing that we adhere to the highest standards. Details of how to take your complaint to the TPO will be contained within the final letter you receive from us or you can find these online at www.tpos.co.uk. Please note that the TPO must receive your complaint within 6 months of our final written response. The TPO will not consider your complaint until our internal procedures have been exhausted.
