Very poor letting agent. As a tennant, in just the 3 months we have been living in the house we have encountered multiple problems. Contractors/maintenance not turning up on days specified. Jobs not carried out properly. Contractors arrricing at the house in announced when it has been specified with tenants working nights this simply is unacceptable. Very poor communication and very unprofessional....

This review was deleted from Google+ Various times! So I feel I should post it on various sites so hopefully someone will actually get the usefull information! When you initially look at Moginie James, you may think yourself with all these exuberant fees and all the house that you have to jump for that's not including the £250 plus credit check. this outfit would be extremely professional and outstanding service. yes you have to pay for the credit check to obtain a property for the year....

Possibly the worst experience of moving house. I moved into my first rented property and like most 19 year olds I was really excited.. However,if I had known that I would encounter half of the problems I've experienced I would never have moved in. Very unhelpful, lied on the state of the property was going to be in (there excuse is that when doing the contract there weren't any special requirements. Since when cleaning the property up before new tenants move in is a special requirement!) , bad communication between landlord and agency... Maintenance team are very slow, it's been weeks since we told them a list of problems that need to be solved (mainly repairs ), they said they would need to contact the landlord before they could do ...

What agent could do to change your mind?
Stick to what you say: If your going to say that the property is going to be in a certain condition make sure it\'s actually going to be in that condition. Don\'t give stupid excuses: Saying that nothing was written in the special requirements section isn\'t an excuse for not doing something as basic as making sure the property is clean. Stop using the landlord as a shield: Every single problem we\'ve told you we had had been answered with \"oh we need to contact the landlord for that\". You don\'t need to contact the landlord to do some repairs, and if you do, make it quick. Don\'t keep your clients waiting for weeks to sort thing out. Don\'t make us get Tenants Liability insurance of it\'s not needed: When I moved in to the property I couldn\'t believe the quality of the furniture. If your going to give us sh** don\'t make us pay extra for it.
Comment on agent fees
If your going to make us pay that amount of agency fees, at least make sure your customer service is top-notch.

As Head of Lettings for Moginie James, I was very disappointed to read these comments as we pride ourselves on our excellent customer service - however after going through the entire company database with a fine toothcomb, I cannot locate any customer with the name of Bob Stinson, so I am unable to look into this issue any further unless Mr Stinson would like to email me direct on martine@Moginiejames.co.uk - I will then be able to help rectify any issues you may have....

Terrible customer service--they are meant to be a go between for yourself and the Landlord..absolutely no communication, couldn\'t even get our bond deposit right. lived with a mouldy house for 3 years despite mentioning it to Moginie James at every inspection....

We have been using this agency for nearly a decade and find the staff helpful, proactive and friendly. We would have no hesitation in continuing to use MJ in the future for our properties....

The most diabolical service or rather lack of service I have ever encountered. It is not rocket science to get it right and this shower are incapable of doing so. Would not recommend them to anyone....

I left several messages for this lady to ring me back as I was very upset that she felt we had let her down, and I wanted the opportunity to put things right. I am happy to report that all the outstanding maintenance work is now complete .....

Completely misled, misinformed and outright lied when showing us a property, late for every viewing appointment. Obnoxious, unprofessional and couldn\'t take criticism. As we found out when my partner is leaving a property let by them, they are unhelpful and not prompt in getting back about the return of her bond. The standing order paid another months rent in error and they are refusing to pay it straight back, obviously being childish about being told how bad they are. Tried to speak wigh...

Dreadful, dreadful estate agent. Constantly lied to us about everything (which caused us to spend money we did not have), never responded to any phone calls or emails and even were unhelpful when we visited them several times in person just to get a response. Were rude, incompetent, and completely unprofessional....

terrible communication , informed them we wanted to secure a property to rent, despite this they continued to show people around the property and told us they couldn't get hold of landlord. This was later proved to be a lie as we managed to locate landlords number on another website and called him directly. He informed us he did speak to agent. I originally heard of the company through my kids who rented student properties through Moginie James. I have recently brought my property portfolio to the Cyncoed branch who have always been superb. Highly recommended....

The only letting agent I would recommend as a tenant. I let through them about five years ago. One Friday the washing machine blew up. By the time I came from work on Monday a new one had been fitted. At the end of the lease they did not quibble about the deposit and gave it back in full. I hope they haven't changed in the last five years....
