I can't recommend Marsh and Parsons strongly enough. The team were efficient and professional throughout the buying and selling process. The sales team were courteous and organised with viewings and sold our house within a matter of days. Similarly the buying process was swift and straightforward resulting in moving into our dream home within a matter of weeks....

He was dealing with our checkout and emailed us one day saying the landlord wants to keep your deposit (over £2000!) so can you please confirm this is ok. We were baffled as we had been expecting to get the whole lot back having left the flat in good condition and paid £240 through Marsh and Parsons to get a professional clean. We said no and what were the reasons. We were given a list which included nails and 'structures' in the walls, a bathroom fan not working and a stain on the c...

Still going through the hell of ever encountouring Marsh and Parsons even weeks after we've moved out. Started by moving into a filthy dirty flat and being charged for a professional clean, that we had to do ourselves, followed by the boiler exploding a couple of days after we moved into property and having to move to hotel. The issues were endless and relentless. After eight months and two months of cold showers as nothing was ever fixed properly, we gave notice. The landlord didn't dispute and...

Marsh Parsons is full of jumped up young sales people, who still live at home with Mum and Dad and have no idea of real life. They are not on the tenants side - we are just cannon fodder to them. It's all about the landlord. They increase rental costs ingnoring the standard 3% that most agencies use, they don't bother getting issues sorted. 2 weeks with no hot water! Ignored the safety policy on ensuring that all rooms were fitted with smoke detectors for over a year. If you wanted to be treate...

Marsh and Parsons *cheated and lied. This started when they told me they would rent for 75pw more than they achieved but continued into the tenancy. They are bad for both tenants and landlords. After my tenants issued a notice to leave, I organised to move back into the property. Paid for transport of furniture from overseas, flights etc only to have my managing agents try to tell me I cannot hold them to their notice date when they ask to extend it. Their knowledge of property law is non...

We just want to put into writing how pleased we are with the flat we have recently purchased and how thankful we are to Marsh and Parsons for finding us the perfect home. We have been renting through Marsh and Parsons for the two flats we have lived in previously and when it came to buying a flat they really went above and beyond. I have been on many viewings with many many different estate agents over the last year and Sarah Gerrett from Marsh and Parsons has been the nicest and most helpful ...

I spent 2 years with Marsh and Parsons as a landlord and I hope no one has to deal with them. They have continuously lied to me, from having done inspections (which they had not and eventually when I inspected my property I realised this did not happen), to promising cleaning would be done prior to tenants arriving. Even providing clear instructions in terms of painting the walls in the same colour as before (they painted Grey when the walls were white), My view is if you want your property to ...

Initially the letting agent came across as friendly, approachable and professional. She quickly made arrangements for me and my friend to see a property she had found which was perfect for us. She met us outside of usual office hours, in order to work around our work schedules. We agreed we were interested in the place, and having seen the property, she talked us through the likely initial next stages, and our paperwork, what we would need to provide. This allowed us to talk about potential prob...

Absolutely horrendous from even before we moved in. Appalling service and psychological techniques, one of which was to pretend there was other people interested in renting the place, so as to make us pay more each week. The night before we moved in, we saw a party on until the small hours, but presumed there was no way this could possibly be the flat we were moving into the next day. It was, and the place had not only not been deep cleaned (as promised), it hadn't been cleaned at all from the p...

This agency was initially charming but they completely missold this apartment to me. I should have taken a hint when the previous tenants wouldn't allow them to show the apartment until after they'd moved out. The week I moved in, the porter of the block informed me that scaffolding was being erected THAT WEEK for four months. I was not informed of this - the scaffolding is currently covering the front and back of the property meaning I don't have any privacy whatsoever - not even in my bath...

Dear Victoria, I am really sorry to read your feedback. As we've previously informed you (and your parents), we were not made aware of these works by the landlord or the block management company (that manage the communal parts/building exterior) about the scaffolding. Unfortunately, we have absolutely no control over their actions or when these works are carried out and if we had been notified, we would absolutely have informed you, as it's not in our interest to have unhappy tenants. Initially pleasant and friendly seeming, but unfortunately that impression wasn't matched with actual service. During bidding, I strongly suspect the agent invented other bidders: they refused to tell me where my bid stood relative to others, and the competition magically melted away as soon as I started to have second thoughts. During subsequent negotiation, the agent introduced a 'rent review' clause speaking on the phone. When I later read it, it turned out to be not a review, but an automa...

Be very wary of Marsh and Parsons. I am an expat executive who relocated, and looked at a property once on a pre-assignment trip. The estate agent promised to do multiple things including sending additional photos and doing a skype walk-through -- which he never did. also made promises about what the landlord would do which ultimately conflicted with what was stated in the STA. All hell broke lose when moving into the property. The agent was aware of prior history of the property which incl...

I gave my flat to be managed to these people. They didn't even go to look at it, therefore they did not know anything about it. They didn't know how to open the boiler panel, how to switch on the gas hob fan, how to switch on the dishwasher, and despite i left there all the instructions for all appliances, every single time the tenant would write to them and say that they could not find the fan switch, or they didn't know how to open the boiler panel, these managers would send a technician to my...

Back in 2013, John-Paul from the Balham & Clapham South office helped my parents find an ideal house when they were moving to the area. Disappointingly, the vendors pulled out at the last minute, but before John-Paul broke the bad news, he'd already worked hard to find an even better home which they've now been very happy in for nearly two years. So, when I started searching for my own new flat in January, John-Paul was my obvious go-to choice. Not only did he fully understand what I was lo...

It all started well, Nichola Snook got my flat rented quickly and for a good rent. It was however downhill from there, that is when Marsh & Parsons stop caring and stop being fair to either the landlord or the tenants. - they charge tenants over £200 for the drafting of the contract, which they will not amend in any way even if the landlord and tenant need them to because they have made additional agreements. For my tenants this meant that they had to decline the use of a nice espress...

Support landlords who try to be fair. Don\'t overcharge the tenant or landlord for every little thing (contracts, gas safety, check in, check out). be professional in your contact with people, both avoiding chasing when you have been asked not to and responding when there are queries. Follow through, the obligations don\'t stop at the point of agreeing a let.

Horrific Experience. It was one of the most stressful and appalling experiences of my life. We had a terrible experience with a short let from Marsh and Parson\'s Balham. We had cause to complain three times in a five week period. Issues included misleading us about the likelihood that the property would return to the market, sales viewings without notice, failure to fix issues and respond to queries swiftly, the property being filthy on arrival, failure to provide the parking permit leading to a ticket, providing keys that didn\'t work trapping my wife out of the house for hours, int...

The service from word go of dealing with Chris was beyond what I expected from any agent. He was accurate and transparent with his valuation- which was slightly more than what I was expecting, but his confidence was reassuring.
