Unresolved maintenance issues at our unit, The Paperworks, Balham Grove over last 6 months of tenancy. This included no working lights for over five weeks to the entire lower floor (which comprised two bedrooms and two ensuites). Had to get around the house and bathrooms with torches and headlamps, and mould spread throughout windowless bathroom as non functioning exhaust fan was related to the electric wiring issue. Agents consistent poor coordination and communication with electricians meant ...

We are going through a NIGHTMARE. We moved from Europe, in a Marsh and Parsons apartment a month ago, with our 3 year old. We reported an awful smell in the master bedroom right away. After having the manager of the buikding unreachable and contractors come and check but not do anything and not coming back, we had a contractor finally come yeatwrday and tell us the truth : it is a smell from rats and mice. I feel horrible ever since that news : NOBODY CARES ABOUT OUR CASE AT MARSH AND PARSONS. T...

This is absolutely the WORST lettings agency and property management I have ever used. When I was renting the flat, they showed me three options. After I put an offer on my favorite flat, they called me back and told me they had forgotten that someone else already put an offer on the property. I then had to switch to the second option but found out that someone just put in an offer. They told me that there was no other option left so I had to choose the last option now that I already paid money ...

Having rented in London for close to 16-years, and having worked with a wide range of agents --- I have to say Marsh and Parsons take the prize as the absolute worst agents I have ever come across. From the moment that I put an offer in (and was encouraged to make it higher to compete with a fictional better offer - which mysteriously flaked when they accepted my offer £100pds per week lower). To the two-year never-ending hell with my current landlord who refuses to acknowledge any repair ...

Joseph Stoll and almost every customer service rep that i dealt with at Marsh and Parsons were inept and rude. Every time there was an issue with the apartment i had to reach out to marsh & parsons multiple times to get things done. at one point there was fungus growing in the shower and i repeatedly asked them to send someone out. I was especially concerned as there was a newborn baby there. They dragged there feet for months without doing anything....

Service provided by this agency is awful. It took us more than two months to have our deposit returned and tens of calls. This is unacceptable. We were first told NOHING about it, after several calls we finally had someone to talk to who told us to deal directly with the landlord. After dealing with him we still have not heard back from the agency, the landlord confirmed he had released the deposit and told us to deal with the agency. Once again after several calls they told us that they had...

NEGLIGENT AND UNPROFESSIONAL. We are renting a flat in the area but wouldn't use Marsh and Parsons as a landlord either. A simple drain blockage repeatedly reported by us and repeatedly ignored by the manager resulted with flooding of the flat with stinky sewage water, unnecessary costs for the landlady and damage of our belongings. Marsh and Parsons didn't even want to send us a cleaner to help us disinfect the floors. Avoid unless you have no other options....

He was dealing with our checkout and emailed us one day saying the landlord wants to keep your deposit (over £2000!) so can you please confirm this is ok. We were baffled as we had been expecting to get the whole lot back having left the flat in good condition and paid £240 through Marsh and Parsons to get a professional clean. We said no and what were the reasons. We were given a list which included nails and 'structures' in the walls, a bathroom fan not working and a stain on the c...

Still going through the hell of ever encountouring Marsh and Parsons even weeks after we've moved out. Started by moving into a filthy dirty flat and being charged for a professional clean, that we had to do ourselves, followed by the boiler exploding a couple of days after we moved into property and having to move to hotel. The issues were endless and relentless. After eight months and two months of cold showers as nothing was ever fixed properly, we gave notice. The landlord didn't dispute and...

Marsh Parsons is full of jumped up young sales people, who still live at home with Mum and Dad and have no idea of real life. They are not on the tenants side - we are just cannon fodder to them. It's all about the landlord. They increase rental costs ingnoring the standard 3% that most agencies use, they don't bother getting issues sorted. 2 weeks with no hot water! Ignored the safety policy on ensuring that all rooms were fitted with smoke detectors for over a year. If you wanted to be treate...

Marsh and Parsons *cheated and lied. This started when they told me they would rent for 75pw more than they achieved but continued into the tenancy. They are bad for both tenants and landlords. After my tenants issued a notice to leave, I organised to move back into the property. I spent 2 years with Marsh and Parsons as a landlord and I hope no one has to deal with them. They have continuously lied to me, from having done inspections (which they had not and eventually when I inspected my property I realised this did not happen), to promising cleaning would be done prior to tenants arriving. Even providing clear instructions in terms of painting the walls in the same colour as before (they painted Grey when the walls were white), My view is if you want your property to ...

Initially the letting agent came across as friendly, approachable and professional. She quickly made arrangements for me and my friend to see a property she had found which was perfect for us. She met us outside of usual office hours, in order to work around our work schedules. Absolutely horrendous from even before we moved in. Appalling service and psychological techniques, one of which was to pretend there was other people interested in renting the place, so as to make us pay more each week. The night before we moved in, we saw a party on until the small hours, but presumed there was no way this could possibly be the flat we were moving into the next day. It was, and the place had not only not been deep cleaned (as promised), it hadn't been cleaned at all from the p...

This agency was initially charming but they completely missold this apartment to me. I should have taken a hint when the previous tenants wouldn't allow them to show the apartment until after they'd moved out. The week I moved in, the porter of the block informed me that scaffolding was being erected THAT WEEK for four months. I was not informed of this - the scaffolding is currently covering the front and back of the property meaning I don't have any privacy whatsoever - not even in my bath...

Dear Victoria, I am really sorry to read your feedback. As we've previously informed you (and your parents), we were not made aware of these works by the landlord or the block management company (that manage the communal parts/building exterior) about the scaffolding. Unfortunately, we have absolutely no control over their actions or when these works are carried out and if we had been notified, we would absolutely have informed you, as it's not in our interest to have unhappy tenants. Initially pleasant and friendly seeming, but unfortunately that impression wasn't matched with actual service. During bidding, I strongly suspect the agent invented other bidders: they refused to tell me where my bid stood relative to others, and the competition magically melted away as soon as I started to have second thoughts. During subsequent negotiation, the agent introduced a 'rent review' clause speaking on the phone. When I later read it, it turned out to be not a review, but an automa...

Be very wary of Marsh and Parsons. I am an expat executive who relocated, and looked at a property once on a pre-assignment trip. The estate agent promised to do multiple things including sending additional photos and doing a skype walk-through -- which he never did. also made promises about what the landlord would do which ultimately conflicted with what was stated in the STA. They didn't know how to open the boiler panel, how to switch on the gas hob fan, how to switch on the dishwasher, and despite i left there all the instructions for all appliances, every single time the tenant would write to them and say that they could not find the fan switch, or they didn't know how to open the boiler panel, these managers would send a technician to my...

Back in 2013, John-Paul from the Balham & Clapham South office helped my parents find an ideal house when they were moving to the area. It all started well, Nichola Snook got my flat rented quickly and for a good rent. It was however downhill from there, that is when Marsh & Parsons stop caring and stop being fair to either the landlord or the tenants. - they charge tenants over £200 for the drafting of the contract, which they will not amend in any way even if the landlord and tenant need them to because they have made additional agreements. Support landlords who try to be fair. Don\'t overcharge the tenant or landlord for every little thing (contracts, gas safety, check in, check out). be professional in your contact with people, both avoiding chasing when you have been asked not to and responding when there are queries. Follow through, the obligations don\'t stop at the point of agreeing a let.
