He was dealing with our checkout and emailed us one day saying the landlord wants to keep your deposit (over £2000!) so can you please confirm this is ok. We were baffled as we had been expecting to get the whole lot back having left the flat in good condition and paid £240 through Marsh and Parsons to get a professional clean. We said no and what were the reasons. We were given a list which included nails and 'structures' in the walls, a bathroom fan not working and a stain on the c...

Still going through the hell of ever encountouring Marsh and Parsons even weeks after we've moved out. Started by moving into a filthy dirty flat and being charged for a professional clean, that we had to do ourselves, followed by the boiler exploding a couple of days after we moved into property and having to move to hotel. The issues were endless and relentless. After eight months and two months of cold showers as nothing was ever fixed properly, we gave notice. The landlord didn't dispute and...

Marsh Parsons is full of jumped up young sales people, who still live at home with Mum and Dad and have no idea of real life. They are not on the tenants side - we are just cannon fodder to them. It's all about the landlord. They increase rental costs ingnoring the standard 3% that most agencies use, they don't bother getting issues sorted. 2 weeks with no hot water! Ignored the safety policy on ensuring that all rooms were fitted with smoke detectors for over a year. If you wanted to be treate...

Marsh and Parsons *cheated and lied. This started when they told me they would rent for 75pw more than they achieved but continued into the tenancy. They are bad for both tenants and landlords. After my tenants issued a notice to leave, I organised to move back into the property. Paid for transport of furniture from overseas, flights etc only to have my managing agents try to tell me I cannot hold them to their notice date when they ask to extend it. Their knowledge of property law is non...

We just want to put into writing how pleased we are with the flat we have recently purchased and how thankful we are to Marsh and Parsons for finding us the perfect home. We have been renting through Marsh and Parsons for the two flats we have lived in previously and when it came to buying a flat they really went above and beyond. I have been on many viewings with many many different estate agents over the last year and Sarah Gerrett from Marsh and Parsons has been the nicest and most helpful ...

I spent 2 years with Marsh and Parsons as a landlord and I hope no one has to deal with them. They have continuously lied to me, from having done inspections (which they had not and eventually when I inspected my property I realised this did not happen), to promising cleaning would be done prior to tenants arriving. Even providing clear instructions in terms of painting the walls in the same colour as before (they painted Grey when the walls were white), My view is if you want your property to ...

Initially the letting agent came across as friendly, approachable and professional. She quickly made arrangements for me and my friend to see a property she had found which was perfect for us. She met us outside of usual office hours, in order to work around our work schedules. We agreed we were interested in the place, and having seen the property, she talked us through the likely initial next stages, and our paperwork, what we would need to provide. This allowed us to talk about potential prob...

Absolutely horrendous from even before we moved in. Appalling service and psychological techniques, one of which was to pretend there was other people interested in renting the place, so as to make us pay more each week. The night before we moved in, we saw a party on until the small hours, but presumed there was no way this could possibly be the flat we were moving into the next day. It was, and the place had not only not been deep cleaned (as promised), it hadn't been cleaned at all from the p...

This agency was initially charming but they completely missold this apartment to me. I should have taken a hint when the previous tenants wouldn't allow them to show the apartment until after they'd moved out. The week I moved in, the porter of the block informed me that scaffolding was being erected THAT WEEK for four months. I was not informed of this - the scaffolding is currently covering the front and back of the property meaning I don't have any privacy whatsoever - not even in my bath...

Dear Victoria, I am really sorry to read your feedback. As we've previously informed you (and your parents), we were not made aware of these works by the landlord or the block management company (that manage the communal parts/building exterior) about the scaffolding. Unfortunately, we have absolutely no control over their actions or when these works are carried out and if we had been notified, we would absolutely have informed you, as it's not in our interest to have unhappy tenants. Initially pleasant and friendly seeming, but unfortunately that impression wasn't matched with actual service. During bidding, I strongly suspect the agent invented other bidders: they refused to tell me where my bid stood relative to others, and the competition magically melted away as soon as I started to have second thoughts. During subsequent negotiation, the agent introduced a 'rent review' clause speaking on the phone. When I later read it, it turned out to be not a review, but an automa...

Be very wary of Marsh and Parsons. I am an expat executive who relocated, and looked at a property once on a pre-assignment trip. The estate agent promised to do multiple things including sending additional photos and doing a skype walk-through -- which he never did. also made promises about what the landlord would do which ultimately conflicted with what was stated in the STA. All hell broke lose when moving into the property. The agent was aware of prior history of the property which incl...

I gave my flat to be managed to these people. They didn't even go to look at it, therefore they did not know anything about it. They didn't know how to open the boiler panel, how to switch on the gas hob fan, how to switch on the dishwasher, and despite i left there all the instructions for all appliances, every single time the tenant would write to them and say that they could not find the fan switch, or they didn't know how to open the boiler panel, these managers would send a technician to my...

Back in 2013, John-Paul from the Balham & Clapham South office helped my parents find an ideal house when they were moving to the area. So, when I started searching for my own new flat in January, John-Paul was my obvious go-to choice. Not only did he fully understand what I was lo...

It all started well, Nichola Snook got my flat rented quickly and for a good rent. It was however downhill from there, that is when Marsh & Parsons stop caring and stop being fair to either the landlord or the tenants. - they charge tenants over £200 for the drafting of the contract, which they will not amend in any way even if the landlord and tenant need them to because they have made additional agreements. Support landlords who try to be fair. Don\'t overcharge the tenant or landlord for every little thing (contracts, gas safety, check in, check out). be professional in your contact with people, both avoiding chasing when you have been asked not to and responding when there are queries. Follow through, the obligations don\'t stop at the point of agreeing a let.

I had let my property through Marsh and Parsons for several years. Last year the front door of the flat was left open but I thought it was the fault of the builders who were refurbishing the flat under the management of the agents. but when I asked the builders they said they didn\'t do it and that the agents were last to view the property. SO i asked them to remember to close and lock the front door ( which isn\'t an onerous task). Then it happened again and I had to have stern words wi...

Aggressive and pushy in their sales technique in order to try and persuade me to choose them as my letting agent - right from the first point of contact. Their terms and conditions for letting properties were very much in line with other competitors that I was also considering, but their customer service leaves much to be desired. While the person who came round to value the property was polite and friendly, the person I spoke to at the office before and afterwards was extremely pushy. I wa...

My wife and I are very grateful indeed for all that Charlie Stratfeild and his colleagues, at Marsh and Parsons, did to sell our house within such a very short period of time and for the asking price. We had switched to Marsh and Parsons after Charlie had been so highly recommended by our daughter for whom he had sold a house earlier in the year. Her recommendation was certainly justified as we received many viewings with 48 hours of him taking on the property and an offer was received on the t...

Rose, Charlie and Tom were all very professional throughout the very stressful, and sometimes emotional, process of selling our house. Of all the agents that we had over, 6 in total, to view the house Marsh and Parsons were the most pro-active, honest and straightforward with their feedback, I instantly felt comfortably dealing with them. For this reason we went with them. They then photographed and measured quickly, got many viewings done promptly, we ended up with two parties bidding against e...

The Agent set a good and fair price, backed by good evidence. This was in a more thorough way than competitors. The final offer was 97% of this so we accepted. The Agent got a good number of viewers through the door and capitalised on the other branches in the area to get more footfall. They were very good at returning calls and worked well once the offer had been accepted. I would recommend any potentially sellor to at least let M&P offer their services....

There is a short time frame for Marsh and Parsons to redeem themselves and show they are capable of dealing with situations professionally. In this case for the Manager to actually visit the property, less than a mile from the office, The office to take responsibility for their inactions and actions, To advise constructively on the next stages and how to proceed, To suggest solutions and worst case scenarios, To remember the landlord is the client and is paying your wages not the tenant.

They take no responsibility for their own actions and the incompetent individuals that work for them. Irrational and quite frankly a sham of a company....

Terrible. A bunch of public schoolboys with no common sense. Very good at getting foot-fall but just not the correct type of clientele. Shocking service....

Charlotte, in this instance I can understand your feedback. We employed a very young man as a trainee on work experience which sadly didn't work out. I can assure you that in general in this and indeed all of our offices, your experience is rare. Thanks anyway. Peter ...

I must admit that i had misgivings about dealing with any agent in London when searching for a property to rent. I was ever so pleasantly surprised with the lettings team in Chelsea, they were simply divine to deal with and really helped the process be as smooth as possible. I work for a large organisation and am constantly referring them to colleagues, all of whom have had a great experience too! They nailed it!...

Relatively straight forward when we moved into our flat- but moving out has been like talking to a mime. No returned phone calls, check-out process and return of keys was left extremely late and caused massive inconveniences. All in all, bad experience. Would not use or recommend again....

Great lettings team, really helpful every step of the way, referred to all people I know who are looking for property. I think a lot of the negative reviews come from people misunderstanding what the actual agents job is! Some people (tenants) have no initiative!...

Were overly helpful and obsequious when showing us properties. Once we moved in, they went completely AWOL. They were supposed to be responsible for property maintenance and communicating our requests to landlord but did nothing. All in all large company trying to make the most by offering the least. Wouldn't recommend it to my enemy!...

Not sure where to start really, originally I had another negotiator helping me with my search I was then passed on to a rude arrogant man who showed me properties that were not only hugely out of my price range but where not in the area I specified. The only good thing about North Kensington was the good looking Manager....

Firstly, I do not work for Marsh & Parsons, I've never used this company in the past. Recently the property that we rent was flooded. Upon ringing Marsh & Parsons we were given clear instructions on who to contact and how to arrange for an emergency plumber (as it was Friday of the long weekend). We paid the plumber, and I thought to myself, we're never going to get that refunded. The plumber needed to come back and Marsh & Parsons arranged for subsequent follow-up visits that were...

Have dealt with the lettings part of Holland Park office, and agree with previous reviewer that Karen Aldrich was fantastic. The Sales team at North Ken branch have been appalling, staff were rude and misled us in their dealings. I should imagine for the vendor they were great, but for the purchaser we were pushed into a corner and would have backed out if we hadn\'t already spent a load of money....

Rude, unhelpful and have little understanding of what they are talking about. Attempted to withhold money from me that they should have been collecting from the landlord. Pursed it all the way until a property lawyer pointed out that their contract is with the landlord not the tenant The Fulham lettings office is not only incomeptent but headed by an individual who is angry and hysterical if challenged, despite being totally in the wrong. I know the landlord and myself will not be dealing with t...

I'd like to know if the Marsh & Parsons the poster refers to is the Kensington office. ...Barely polite if they want something, otherwise unbelievably rude. ...
