Anyone but Ruth, i didn't want to go to her in order to rent property, 2 i was interested in and was willing to pay everything upfront but she kept making excuses, fed up of her, AVOID lenwell, unhelpful, the manager isn't much help herself. Watson Mitchell leaders helped me secure property nice and easy whereas lenwell are not persistent and very unhelpful. Dreadful company, avoid at all costs! The property my partner rents from LENWELL'S. the place is falling apart she contacts them but they never answer calls or emails. My partner has to end up contacting the owner of the property. In 2 years they have failed to do property inspections even though they tell her their coming to view the property. Worst letting agent I have ever used. Property was barely habitable and running with damp. Very disappointed, we moved in which took longer than thought because of a miscommunication with one of the staff, the toilet was not working properly and we had trouble for at least 6 weeks when they eventually fixed it. The toilet is now unusable(the smell is putrid and there is NO way you can eat or cook a meal with the smell). Terrible experience. Saw a property for a rental, was informed to pay admin fee to book. Did so in 30 minutes but the property was given to someone else. They will lie to you about the property that you are looking to rent e.g. that they will clean the property if it needs it, remove previous tenant's property, council tax bands. They will provide you with out of date inventories for the property. They will lose the keys to the property. They will not allow you to attend final inspections. They just need t have an ethical code of standards that they can follow. They tend to give themselves awards and display them on their websites/ email signatures but you can never actually find these awarding organisations. Lenwell give themselves their awards. All of their staff are trained to maximize profit without any ethical guidelines, essentially like chuggers or cold callers.

I had several episodes of dealings with Lenwell Property Services of Luton, over my 10 month tenancy with them. I found them highly inefficient throughout. The agent has been really poor, I won't be using them again. I have been lied to about tenants, the agency does not vet people anywhere near as thoroughly as they claim to. They have an irritating habit of and adding extra fees all the time without consultation. Landlords beware (and, I suspect, tenants beware too). Never again....

I think as many other reviewers previously have stated simply by doing their job the improve in customer service will be massive. I am quite surprise to see how they are members of so many professional organisations and be bale to have so many bad customer experiences. I know we could have approached these organisations in the past and we opted not to which I think was a mistake since none should take advantage of these memberships without really deserving it. In summary you really want these reviews to improve and have better business reputation start by treating your customer with a lot more respect and honouring what is advertised and shown.

My advice is for them to had fulfilled their obligations as I was promised my property would be returned in the state I left it. I paid Lenwells a management fee to manage property and arrange to check up on my house to insure everything was kept in order. Again they did not seem to care and fail to provide me with any paperwork as they confirm all of my file has been sent to the head office and their hands are washed from the situation. They have failed in all possible ways to protect my property, keep hold of necessary paperwork (such as insurances, inventory list, etc..), images of my property before the tenant moved in and failed to correct there incompetence.

The letting section appear good at getting tenants into a property but the service of this companies management section is shocking. You complain and give them deadlines to return calls and they ignore these deadlines. They pass the buck between the internal departments and will do all they can to avoid admiting mistakes made by agents they have used. When I moved into bedfordshire I used lenwell to find me and my partner a flat to rent, they were vert helpful to begin with but the problems started soon after we moved in. As mirrored by many other comments, the staff were initially friendly & helpful. However, after move in the attitude changed and they became unhelpful and curt. Correspondence was written in a manner implying the tenant was guilty until proven innocent. Problems were slow to be resolved and only then after being chased and reminded or the problems\' details. To begin with Lenwells were professional and polite; the service in the Bedford branch was good. However, having lived in a Lenwell managed property for three years I can agree with the majority of tenant reviews here (notice the good reviews are from landlords...). I have found lenwells to be an incredibly professionsal and responsive letting agent. How do they received the Sunday time 2010 Gold award? Am I the only unlucky tenant? You are not the only one with problems! We have the same issues I sent a email to them (and have proof) of a leak back in january 2010 and still nothing has been done! I had holes in my bathroom since being 28 weeks pregnant with my son and it was fixed when he was 7 months old! Balcony leaks downstairs and men have yet to come and fix everything that was back in March 2010 and still nothing and after all this and over ร‚ยฃ100 spent on phone calls to them and the building owners they still claim ...

I have to say that Lenwell have been very helpful and supportive. I lost my husband a few years ago. He dealt with all the correspondence when letting out our flats, so when he died I had no clue on what needed to be done. The very lovely Ruth Carter helped with everything. I gave Lenwell copies of water bills to be forwarded to the tenant in my flat. They then quoted back to me and the tenant that they were paid. Yes, by me - I'm due that money back. Apallingly rude, disorganised, and generally unpleasant to deal with. Lenwell treat tenants like vermin. Letters are always stilted and direct, usually of the 'we will break into your house on Thursday whether you like it or not' variety.
