Avoid this estate agent if possible. However, most landlords go to them because they bleed the tenants dry on their behalf. The worst ever is the lady in charge of maintenance called 'Debbie'. She is extremely rude and has no customer care skills. My experience with them has been horrible....

I will NEVER recommend Jonathan Rees to anyone! We've had nothing but problems with them. During our two years renting with them, we have reported several problems which took weeks (sometimes months) to sort out. Now we've bought our own house with another estate agent, they don't want to give us our deposit back as the house wasn't satisfactorily clean even though me, my husband & his parents spent 2-3 days deep cleaning it. I will add that we took the house when it hadn't been cleaned so h...

This was a 'Tenant find' property so we had no involvement with the day to day maintenance. The landlord wished to make unrealistic deductions and the tenants were quite rightly refunded their deposit by the dispute service.....

I used Jonathan Rees to find a tenant for me on a tenant find only basis. From the outset when I met with Andrew he reassured me that he would find me the right tenants for my property, within a week we had a number of viewings and found someone suitable. I found the whole process very good, even when they came to leave the property at the end of the tenancy it was dealt with professionally. I would recommend them again....

My wife and I had paid this agent to secure a property that was advertised as a non smoking property . On arrival this was obviously wasn't true and when we asked for a professional clean prior to the move the agent point blank refused , more importantly they didn't have the faintest idea how to treat there customers. They refused to reimburse our £300 holding deposit because they said they had paid for referencing which hadn't happened as my referees assured me they hadn't even been con...

It's amazing to see all the same comments as I would make. I can only think that no-one cares that Jonathan Rees is such a poor letting agent for the tenants themselves. No-one at the agency seems to be bothered that John and the agency has such a poor reputation in this area. I've not met a single tenant that has a good word to say about them. From a landlord's perspective they do very well at squeezing out every last drop of money from the tenants and I suppose the landlords see this as a ...

Achieved best price possible for landlord. Not interested in fairness for the tenant.

Their behaviour and response very different before signing the contract and After signing the contract. When maintenance issue reported, they says we have 400+ houses, yours one in the list, It will take time. I think too much monopoly in Chandlers ford area. Will Never recommend to a friend....

At first this agent appears helpful and above board (they want to get your money after all) but as soon as you have signed a contract they are terrible. Just seconds after signing our contract we witnessed John Caines openly making insults about another customer who had just walked out of the door. He is rude and arrogant and I think it is a shame that Jonathan Rees has entrusted his lettings arm to such an obviously horrible person. When we first moved into our property we were shocked by how ...

Jonathan Rees appeared to be a professional lettings company through the initial stages of the lettings process. Things soon changed once they had my money! Upon meeting the inventory clerk at the property, it was apparent that between the initial inventory and my move in date (3 days) the condition of the property had altered significantly. Here is a quick breakdown of some of the problems I had with the property: The garden shed had been removed and the contents were left exposed to t...

John Caine is the most arrogant, rude person I have had to speak to. Maintenance work never done, people entering the property without giving notice (and giving this is the law!), on inspection people going through your private belongings, totally unacceptable on complaining about this, they did not deal with it in the appropriate way. The team as a whole are VERY unprofessional....

First thing would be to listen to your customers irregardless of why they aer contacting you. DO NOT, not raise voice and become aggressive. Remember that the person calling is a customer and show some respect, BE professional,

I can honestly say, so far into my tenancy, I have had no problems with this company. I feel very happy now I am not a tenant of leaders. The day I moved into the property I am in now, we had a full formal check in of the property, highlighting if, any issues, which there wasn't. there was a mix up with the washing machine, we were told there was no washing machine, so we went out and bought one and the day we moved in, there was a washing machine, I can honestly say this is the only hick up we ...

Just stumbled upon this site and can't believe that other people have had exactly the same unbelievably bad experience with these people as we have. My partner and I had many ongoing problems with these agents, none of which were ever satisfactorily resolved. The arrogance and unhelpfulness of staff members that have already been named was just unbelievable. I run my own business and if I behaved anything like these people do to my clients I would be bankrupt by now. We ended up leaving ou...

[[EDIT ORIGINAL START]] I am baffled by Marcs rantings having looked at the reviews. I can only assume that he is one of those people that is never happy with anthing in life. I used Jonathan Rees as the agent to find me a tenant for my property that i let out. Within the week i had 6 lots of tenants on a list who wanted to have a look. Everything was completed in a month and to say the least i am delighted that i was able to trust both John Caine and indeed Debbie Darvile to sort it all ...

Dreadful experience. The lettings manager is the most arrogant, unhelpful, sexist jobsworth I've met in a long time. At the start of the tenancy they tried to tell me that buying contents insurance through them was a condition of the tenancy agreement. It's not and it's illegal to tie insurance to a tenancy agreement. They just wanted more commission. I've come into some money and am about to become a buy-to-let landlord. I would never DREAM of putting my tenants through this experienc...

Absolutely unashamedly terrible. Jonathan Caine - thinks he can talk himself out of any problem - he can't. Debbie Darvil - worst employee I have ever come across in any business, from Lidl to Harrods. We never got anything fixed in our property that was literally falling apart. everal times we journeyed in to see them, Mr Caine would often look up from his desk and look visibly bothered someone was disturbing him from his sudoku. Miss Darvil would scurry into the back to avoid me, knowing h...

As Marc well knows the landlord would not allow us to spend any money. Without the landlords consent we were unable to get repairs done to the property. The deposit deductions were requested by the landlord despite our advice to the contrary. No deductions were made. The tenants had a bad experience but not of our making. We do not act for these landlords now and would not do so again. Jonathan Rees....

[[EDIT ORIGINAL START]] Their lettings manager John is the rudest, most arrogant man I have ever met. I've never met such a nasty piece of work. AND I'M A CUSTOMER!!! Thanks for your honest review. A friend of mine has gone through a hugely upsetting experience with them (different person than the one you mention too so it's not just the one), they seem to think they can treat tenants any which way and they are protected. Sadly they are probably right. They are shameless, and do not care how much distress they cause to honest people, I do hope they get served a little of their own medicine soon and realise that you just cannot treat people that way.....
